I’m looking for a Workaway stay in France from mid-September for 3–4 weeks. I’m open to different projects: community living, nature, gardening, DIY and helping with everyday tasks.

Description

Hello! My name is Carlos. I am Portuguese and grew up in Angola, and I studied Industrial Engineering in France.

I would describe myself as calm, curious and open-minded. I can be a little reserved at first, but once I feel comfortable, I enjoy conversations, exchanging experiences and discovering different ways of living.

I recently completed a three-month international Workaway experience in Germany, where I lived in a small community and helped with a variety of practical projects and everyday tasks. During this experience, I worked in the garden, helped with watering and basic permaculture-related activities, built a stone base for a water reservoir, did cleaning and household tasks, and helped with small maintenance, organization and practical projects.

I am not a specialist in construction or gardening, but I enjoy practical work, I am willing to learn, and I am comfortable helping with different tasks. I also have previous experience with painting, furniture assembly, plasterboard installation and basic renovation work.

At this stage, I am looking for another Workaway experience in France, ideally for around three to four weeks. I am quite open regarding the type of project. I would especially enjoy being somewhere connected with nature, community living, gardening, sustainability, renovation or simply helping with everyday life around a house or property.

Outside of work, I enjoy running, cycling, music, films and Japanese anime. I also used to practice breakdance. I enjoy having time on my own, but I also appreciate shared meals, conversations and learning from people with different backgrounds.

Through Workaway, I would like to continue discovering new ways of living, meet genuine people, contribute where I can and learn through practical experience.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have practical experience from different environments and I am comfortable learning by doing.

During my recent three-month Workaway experience in Germany, I helped with gardening, watering, basic permaculture activities, cleaning and household tasks, organization, small maintenance projects and practical outdoor work. One of my larger practical tasks was helping to prepare and build a stone base for a water reservoir.

Before that, I spent several months helping with renovation work in Portugal, including painting, furniture assembly, plasterboard installation, stone pavement and general renovation support.

Through my engineering studies and previous work experience, I can also help with organization, computers, documents and basic project planning.

I am not a professional gardener or craftsman, so for more specialized work I may need some guidance at first. However, I am comfortable with physical work, I learn quickly, and I am happy to contribute to everyday tasks such as cleaning, organizing, gardening and general help around the house.
