Hallo, Hello, and Hei,
My name is Brook, I'm 20 years old and I love to travel and to get to know new cultures. I'm a very open minded person and I love to read books and write poems and short stories. I'm really interested in politics and activism (especially the protection of the environment and intersectional feminism). At the same time I really enjoy to discover fantasy worlds. I also love theater (I am currently attending acting school and it is a dream come true for me) and like to do embroidery. Another interest of mine is philosophy and I like to get to know a variation of theories and to discuss them and further my understandign of the way I comprehend the world.
When I was ten years old I visited Norway for the first time and imediately fell in love with the country. I've been learning norwegian for about a year now and would love to improve my norwegian.
I grew up in a big family in a rural area right next to a little farm. This awakend my love for nature and all its various creatures.
For the summer holidays of 2024 I plan to travel Norway with my family for a bit and then spent some more time doing Workaway on my own.

ich heiße Brook, bin 20 Jahre alt und liebe es zu reisen und neue Kulturen kennenzulernen. Ich bin ein sehr offener Mensch, lese sehr gerne und schreibe auch Gedichte. Ich interessiere mich für Politik und Aktivismus (insbesondere Klimaschutz und intersektionalen Feminismus) und liebe es gleichzeitig in Fantasy-Welten abzutauchen. Ich liebe außerdem das Theater und sticke sehr gerne. Außerdem beschäftige ich mich gerne mit Philosophie und habe Freude daran mich in die verschiedensten Theorien einzuarbeiten und diese zu hinterfragen, zu erweitern, oder mir einfach nur eine Meinung darüber zu bilden.
Als ich zehn war, war ich mich das erste Mal in Norwegen und habe mich augenblicklich in das Land verliebt. Seit etwa einem Jahr lerne ich auch norwegisch und möchte meine Kenntnisse auf jeden Fall noch ausweiten.
Aufgewachsen bin ich in einer großen Familie im ländlichen Raum, direkt neben einem Bauernhof.
Dies hat in mir eine große Liebe zur Natur erweckt, die ich seit meiner Kindheit bis heute auslebe. Ich habe eine tiefe Verbindung zur Natur und all ihren Lebewesen.
Für die Sommerferien 2024 plane ich eine zeitlang mit meiner Familie durch Norwegen zu reisen und dann noch ein wenig allein zu workawayen.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm very creative and have a high empathy, especially when it comes to working with kids.
I have experiences as a babysitter, camp counselor, and tutor and I also take care of younger relatives regularly.
I speak fluent english and have some basic skills in norwegian.
I help a lot in the household and am able to cook, clean and do the laundry.
I'm good at working with animals and love to work with them in a kind and gentle manner.
I'm also able to handle various kinds of gardening, like mowing the lawn, watering plants, and shoveling snow.
Because of my love for nature I have absolutly no problem with getting wet and dirty and am always open for all kinds of outside tasks.

Ich bin sehr empathisch und kreativ und habe ein großes Einfühlungsvermögen, insbesondere im Umgang mit Kindern. Ich habe Erfahrung als Babysitterin, in der Begleitung von Ferienfreizeiten, dem Erteilen von Nachhilfeunterricht und betreue regelmäßig kleinere Kinder (ca. 3-6).
Ich spreche fließend Englisch und kenne Grundlagen der norwegischen Sprache.
Ich helfe viel im Haushalt mit und kann kochen, putzen, und Wäsche waschen.
Ich habe einen guten Zugang zu Tieren und setzte mich gerne und wertschätzend mit ihnen auseinander.
Auch bin ich in der Lage diverse Gartenarbeiten auszuführen (Rasen mähen, Garten Pflege, Schnee schippen).
Durch meine Naturverbundenheit macht es mir nichts aus nass und schmutzig zu werden und bin immer für Arbeiten im Freien offen.
