Hiya, I'm Ben, 24 years old, recently graduated and decided to take some time out traveling. I enjoy climbing, skiing, hiking, camping, essentially just fresh air, also enjoy listening to, playing, talking about music, baking, cooking, and reading. All of the above are improved by good company. As far as what motivates me, I'm more than anything just looking for interesting stuff I can dedicate my time too. Decided after graduating university that I'd take some time out and see more of the world before starting a career, and volunteering/ traveling between places whilst working seems an interesting way to do it.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have an undergrad degree in criminology and a post grad in cyber security, although I realise neither of these are likely to come in handy with the type of work posted here. They do both show significant time management and organisational skills, as well as a level of tech literacy though. Professionally I have experience working in customer service, bar tending, and in kitchen settings. In customer service I worked at checkouts, advised customers on outdoor equipment and assisted the warehouse, as a bar tender I waited tables and served drinks, and most recently as a kitchen assistant I managed the pot washing section and assisted in the preparation of dishes. I am also proficient climber, having achieved my Climbing Wall instructor qualification shortly before leaving for Canada, as well as completing outdoor first aid training, a course that covered CPR, the use of defibrillators and incident management regarding far from help first aid scenarios. In addition I am a semi decent baker, have some experience running volunteer organisations having been chair of my universities mountaineering society, have helped out on a handful DIY and minor construction projects (on the scale of digging and laying a patio, building and repairing fences) have considerable experience trekking/ wild camping both solo and in a group, and some experience sailing 1-2 man boats and skiing.

I'm an avid climber, hoping to spend some time sampling some Canadian bouldering or sport climbing, perhaps even venturing into trad. In addition I love wildlife and experiencing places such a Yukon for its unique landscape and biodiversity is high on the bucket list. On top of this I enjoy reading, playing the guitar, Baking, cooking, and simply being outdoors.
