Hi, my name is Ben and I’m 21. I love to travel and meet new people and have been lucky enough to experience different trips and adventures abroad before (you can see my feedback on my profile :D). However, with the help of work away, I wish to broaden my horizons and do something entirely new hopefully by helping hosts who need extra hands with whatever it is they are trying to achieve.

I am currently a student studying French at university and I have had experience teaching French in a classroom environment. A small part of my degree also consists of learning Spanish which is a skill I am keen to develop. However, I am not fluent in French therefore would also like to develop this skill as well. In addition, I have just completed my year abroad as part of my degree, and so I have official experience working as a language assistant in schools and for private clients.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Aside from my eagerness to learn and take on new skills during my Workaway experiences, I have previously acquired useful skills by travelling and working in various jobs. For example I have worked in hospitality and a factory, therefore I am capable of working in a high intensity environment as well as being comfortable under pressure, having good time-management skills and working well in a team. I am also an active, genuine and hard-working person who is passionate about volunteering and making a difference. On top of this, I love to cook, exercise, read and have fun!

As I mentioned before, I cook a lot when I am at home and have experience in how a restaurant functions so would be comfortable in helping out in this aspect of my stay. Also, during my first year of university, I have experienced numerous other activities such as caving in locations such as South Wales and also kayaking in different places in Britain. I love to go running and swimming, but I have also played sports such as football, Tae-Kwon-Do and Squash. Furthermore, I have experience of voluntary gardening. However, I would say my favourite thing to do is travel!
