Hello, I'm Astrid and I'm 28 years old! I'm originally from a small town just outside of Chicago, Illinois surrounded by farmland and open skies. Now I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and work as an espresso machine technician. Actually, I've been working in specialty coffee for over 4 years in total and am fascinated by the entire field, from farm to cup. If you like coffee, I'm happy to share that passion. I recently completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany. Being outdoors, rain or shine, has always been a grounding part of my life. I find peace in tending gardens, getting my hands in the soil, and working on projects that require both patience and grit. Especially now, with my BS in Botany, I'm hoping to put some of my theoretical knowledge to practice. I'm interested in sustainable agriculture, nature conservation, and would love to get more involved in permaculture initiatives. I'm a curious person who enjoys learning new skills, diving into challenging work, and collaborating with others. I find joy in purpose-driven projects and believe in staying calm, open-minded, and finding humor, even in tough situations. If you're into outdoor adventures like mountain biking, surfing, kayaking, or skateboarding, I'm sure we'll get along well. I also love making and sharing music, although I'm a bit shy at first (and probably rusty!) Music, like nature, creates space for connection and exploration, and I'm always happy to talk about favorite artists or jam with others.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I love gardening and farming, with a few years of experience in both. I've mostly worked on organic vegetable farms, using sustainable techniques.
I'm also a fairly handy person. My experience as a technician has taught me how to use creative thinking to repair mechanical problems, which has come in handy for home repairs. Lastly, I love caring for animals, and they seem to like me too (I hope!) I'm a cat/dog sitter on the side from my regular job.
