Hi everyone!
I'm Arianna and... how to define myself? Certainly, I'm a very curious person: I ask a lot of questions, I observe, I explore, I sneak in everywhere. It was probably this quality that made me choose to take a gap year to travel around the world. My aim is to get to know different lifestyles and perspectives from my own.
I teach Italian, History, Geography and Latin to pupils aged 10-13 years old: not easy, but challenging and exciting. I firmly believe in the value of culture as a tool to broaden and deepen our view of the human being.
I have many interests, in particular, I like everything related to art (drama, visiting exhibitions, photography, etc.). My real passion, however, is travelling and building relationships. I consider myself sociable (even too much sometimes), but I also love to take time to stay alone and dig into myself through writing.
I hope that with Workaway I can put myself out there and be amazed by the encounters I will make!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I've always enjoyed being active and busy, ever since I was a teenager. I've always been involved with children and young people, as a catechist in the parish, as a babysitter and a tutor. Now I'm a teacher, so I've made education and instruction my job!

In general, I feel very inclined and gifted to building relationships with people who are very different from me in terms of culture, age, social, and psychological conditions. I certainly still have a looot to learn, but my volunteer and travel experiences have already helped me break down many barriers! My knowledge of languages, which I studied in school and strengthened during my Erasmus stays in France and Germany and during a summer as an au pair in England, gave me a further boost to open myself up to new relationships.

By volunteering for an association (Operazione Mato Grosso), I also developed more practical skills, such as painting walls, moving furniture, picking fruit, varnishing, gardening, organising cake sales, cutting wood... I'm still very attracted to the idea of working on a farm to learn new knowledge and skills, and simply to appreciate a lifestyle so different from that of the city. I must add that at home we have a very large garden, and ever since I was a child, I've always been used to helping out (though a little less as I got older, because I was always out!).

I had the opportunity to work in Germany as a waitress and in France as a home assistant. This allowed me to discover the world of catering and to help a person with a disability with his household management.

Due to my studies and passions, I've been able to develop some skills in the world of art and theatre, as I very often visit exhibitions and museums, and have attended theatre courses. I'm not a great artist, but I really enjoy acting and, in general, I consider myself a creative person. The best ways that I have to express myself? Writing and photography.
