Hello! My name is Annie and I live in Santa Cruz California, USA! I just finished college at UCSC with a degree in Environmental Studies. I have a passion for horticulture, natural resource management, food sovereignty and just a general interest in filling my knowledge gaps. I learn best by doing and on the go so throw me into any task and I will be able to do it and learn from it as well. I am proficient in Spanish and fluent in English but language barriers are something I am used to and I do not find them to be something that hinders my ability to communicate with the people around me. I am very strong, positive and looking for hosts who can teach me their ways! I am a low maintenance tenant/guest and can absolutely hang out by myself and explore.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Annie y vivo en Santa Cruz, California, Estados Unidos. Acabo de terminar la universidad en UCSC con un título en Estudios Ambientales. Me apasiona la horticultura, la gestión de los recursos naturales, la soberanía alimentaria y, en general, me interesa llenar mis lagunas de conocimiento. Aprendo mejor haciendo y sobre la marcha, así que, si me ponen a hacer cualquier tarea, podré hacerla y aprender de ella también. Soy competente en español y hablo inglés con fluidez, pero las barreras del idioma son algo a lo que estoy acostumbrada y no creo que sean algo que obstaculice mi capacidad de comunicarme con las personas que me rodean. Soy muy fuerte, positiva y busco anfitriones que puedan enseñarme sus costumbres. Soy una inquilina/huésped que requiere poco mantenimiento y puedo pasar el rato sola y explorar.

I am a trained gardener and landscaper in California. I am a strong, patient, and motivated person who can take on new tasks easily. I have years of experience working with children and animals as well including farm and house animals. Work away is a much more affordable way to gain knowledge than your typical study abroad programs which I appreciate. I want to learn everything and anything I can that you are willing to teach me!
