Hello I'm Andrea and I'm a learning lover.

I love learning and discovering new places and meeting new people.
The past few years I worked in a restaurant both as a waitress and a cook, and on the side I also did a distance learning course of graphic design. I like learning new and handy skills as well.

I am interested in learning about a country's culture and history. I would like to spend the next year differently: I have some volunteering abroad experiences in the past and stopped in 2020. Now I've started again in April of this year, with the goal of making as much abroad experience as I can.

I grew up in the countryside and therefore am used to having animals around to look after, and still need having nature around, even when I'm in town.

Since I left high-school, I attended university and went for studies of English and Japanese: my goal was to become either a translator or an interpret. However, I validated only one year among the two, so I didn't get the degree yet I learnt a lot from those studies.
I then did studies to work in restaurants: I already had experiences as a waitress (doing jobs in summer in the UK) and got the degree there as a cook, but I'm working on both jobs.

I would be happy to help people and discover new places at the same time.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

General maintenance: I can help with the cleaning and tidying up of the house.

Cooking: having worked in restaurants, I know about French cuisine and will be happy to share some recipes, and am interested in learning about other cuisines.

Gardening: I can help with gardening as well although I only have the basic skills (weeding, planting seeds, watering the plants, picking fruits and vegetables, cutting grass and hedges...).

Looking after animals : I already had to take care of cats, dogs, rabbits, hens and ducks in the past, and am willing to learn how to take care of other animals

Looking after children: I have a Youth Work Certificate so I can work with children.

Language exchange: I am fluent in English and French is my mother tongue, so I could teach those.

Tourism: I have some experience in tourism (helped in tourist office for events, welcoming clients and giving information about a place or an event).

Translation: I have no degree of translation, but I did some translation as a volunteer (again for tourist offices and touristic places) from English-French, English-Spanish, English-Japanese (but I lost a lot of level in Japanese since then, that was in 2019).

Graphic design: I have a certificate in graphic design, but I still have a lot to learn, I'm not confident enough with some tools.

I have many different hobbies, my favourite including writing, singing and playing music (alongside with travelling!). I currently have a writing project that is nearly done and am learning to play harp also. Since it's not a practical instrument to carry around when traveling, I'm currently learning other musical instruments: ukulele and tin whistle.
I like talking about arts in general (music, literature, cinema, painting...).

I also enjoy reading, dancing, walking or doing pilates / yoga. I also do meditation at times and am sort of a spiritual person. I am very interested in music and love discovering new artists in any kind of music I have yet to know.

I sometimes do drawings and paintings as well, according to what inspires me.

I like knitting at times too although it's been quite long I haven't been working on any knnitting project, I still like to learn new patterns.

I do part time writing but have no project published yet, so I'm not officially a digital nomad but I may have some work to do on my computer when I come. But be assured I can also let that work aside to get fully involved in the work I will have to do on the Workaway.
