Hi,
I'm Miriam, I live in France. I'm in Colombia for two months, it's my first long travel and I want to immerse myself in the country's culture. Also I want to give back what Colombia is giving to me in terms of life lessons and adventure.
At 33 years old I decided to do this first life experience in order to get out of my comfort zone. It was a long time dream I've worked for. And now I look forward to the person I become here.
I am curious, I appreciate all the simple moment in life and I love animals and caring of them.
In France, I have worked in social care for 10 years, taking care of vulnerable people (homeless people, migrants, handicapped individuals, etc.). My friends describe me as engaged, a defender of human rights, equality and peace!
Now it's my turn to present myself. I'm Amelie, I'm 30 years old and this travel is my birthday gift to myself. It's my third backpacking travel and my second time on workaway, the first was in a Turkey, on a ranch and it was so enriching!
Like my friend Miriam I am curious, athletic but above all I like to connect with people, animals and most generally with nature. My friends describe me as sympathetic, organized and a good cook. All my friends come to eat at my place, so I always have something in the fridge!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Miriam
My primary skill is social, because of my job, so I can easily support people from all over the world. I am comfortable with English, and I am improving my Spanish thanks to Colombian people. I can also speak a little Arabic because I'm of Algerian origins.
I have experience in hospitality having worked in restaurants and cafes previously. I'm really open to learning new skills and I am a fast learner. I can tinker, help with cooking and cleaning. I'd love work with animals, I'm not scared.
Amelie
Due to my work within social care, I am very well versed in working primarily with young people. I find it fascinating meeting locals and learning about their likes and what makes them passionate to get out of bed in the morning. I am very comfortable with my English and similarly to Miriam I am working on bettering my Spanish while travelling and meeting new people in Colombia.
I have a horse back in France and daily I do tasks which revolve around the maintenance of the farm grounds as well as caring for mine and other horses on the ranch. My previous experience working on a ranch in Turkey allowed me to better my skills as a guide relying on horses to take us around the local region.
During my travels in Vietnam I fell in love with their cuisine and often implement aspects of their meals into my regular cooking.
