Hello everybody 👋
My name is Shirin I'm a 19 year old girl from Hamburg, Germany and I love to travel in a way where I can really learn about a place and the people.
I finished school in the summer of 2024 and simultaneously did an apprenticeship to be a chemical-, technical assistant, which I finished in January of 2025.
I am adventurous, open minded and love to try new stuff and meet new people. I am a vegetarian, and love to take care of animals. Hosts who can provide a vegetarian diet would be ideal, however I have no problem with making my own food.
I really like creative and artsy stuff like music (I play saxophone and try with the uke and guitar), painting, writing and photography.

I would love to experience new cultures and countries as a Workaway volunteer. Since I grew up in a big city, I would like to spend some time closer to nature.
I always wanted to see the northern countries (especially Norway) and New Zealand, but really I wanna see the whole world.

I love humans of all kinds and sizes (except for the homophobic, sexist, racist, fascist ones :)).

Update 2026:
I started my work and travel journey in New Zealand on January 15th. I will be staying here for a few months and am now looking for hosts I can work with while I enjoy the beautiful nature and culture of this country.

I arrived on the South Island on February 18th and am now in Nelson and looking to slowly make my way down to Dunedin.

I have worked in an Escape Room for 6 Months and as a staff member in a concerthall for 2 Months. I’m reliable, open-minded, and always happy to lend a hand.

I have gardening experience from working in a permaculture garden and a nature Conservation project in New Zealand, as well as in a seasonal family garden back home.
I have bunnies at home and took care of my friends cats and dogs several times before so I have some experience with animal care.
I'm also used to doing house painting, cleaning and cooking.
I'm looking forward to expanding my skill set in the future!

I would love to work at a hostel where I can meet people from around the world. However I also love to stay at off grid places in nature. So I really am open to many types of experiences.

Unfortunately I don't have a driver's license or my own car, but I have no problem with long bus rides and/or walks.

I'm always eager to learn new things. So if I'm lacking a skill that I need, I would love to get taught and will put in all the effort to actually learn it.

I wanna hear about peoples stories and culture and share mine.
