Hi, I'm Alizée!
I'm a recent MSc graduate, based in Belgium. I grew up in multiple countries and feel drawn to all projects/activities that are involving ecotourism. I speak English, French and would love to solidify my Spanish (and tiny notions of Italian)! My main objective within the Work Away community is to leave my comfort zone and learn from others, all while soaking in new languages and cultures. I'm genuinely interested in sailing and sustainable agriculture - I would be happy to help with my hands deep in the soil.
Above all, my greatest love is the sea. I spend all my free time in the water exploring. After obtaining my PADI advanced open water certificate, I realized I wanted to develop a more diverse set of underwater skills (freediving, spear fishing, rescue etc). I also have some boating experience which can prove useful if you ever need an extra hand on board!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I had the opportunity to grow up on board of a sailing vessel from age 11 to 15. This taught me the basics of sailing, as well as life on board as an active crew member.
Later on, during university, I volunteered on a small Canadian maple syrup farm for three weeks. I mainly took care of the garden, as well as various animals such as hens, ducks, and donkeys. So not afraid of getting my hands dirty.
In 2021, I spent two weeks tending to a permaculture farm in the north of Croatia, where I assisted in handling compost and vegetable plots including tomatoes, potatoes, and zuchini.
In 2022 I traveled through the Balkans, I worked within an eco lodge on the border between Montenegro and Bosnia, where I cleaned, took care of laundry and prepared rooms for visitors.
