Introducing Adam and Ally (Phillipa) Hey!

From best friends for years and now together for 16, engaged for 8, it was our desire to see the world and all the wonderful things in it that brought us together. And now we are looking for exciting opportunities to meet people and be a part of their real lives, helping out any way we can. It’s these kinds of experiences that open minds and hearts and that are the true meaning of travel.

After 2 months backpacking Thailand & Indonesia we landed in Melbourne August 2024 to start our year long working holiday visa. Since then we have been working and living in Melbourne and exploring everything the area has to offer. We enjoyed a first month doing workaway on the Mornington Peninsula and loved it. We then moved to Melbourne and grabbed a bar job for 9 months before we headed up the East coast sightseeing and doing workaway to enrich our travels. We stayed on farms, worked in gardens, house/pet sitted and enjoyed our time socialising with our hosts and maintaining our 100% positive feedback along the way. We loved our time there and absolutely love the workaway concept so we can't wait to do more across the world! After Australia we went backpacking around Malaysia and as far as the Jungles of Borneo and have plenty of stories to tell! After Malaysia we hopped back over to the uk where we are now planning the next part of our adventure. We're heading to Vietnam late September, followed by Cambodia and then on to India, Sri Lanka and who knows where else!

We both have well over a decade of hospitality business management experience in busy city center establishments, achieved huge results in our careers, never been unemployed or fired and have been put through many ridiculous situations... (We’ll save those stories for the campfire!) Working in a corporate, fast paced working environment has undeniably left us wanting to get back to nature and find some peace, serenity and spirituality in the world. So that's exactly what we're doing. Getting to know new people whilst getting our hands dirty together, sharing stories, laughs and good times.

-Adam - A keen amateur Photographer who's building his social media and website portfolio and hoping to turn it into a career so would love to create a project for you or get involved with others. He's into tech and computers and can build gaming pcs and basic websites. Instagram - @everysinglejourney @adamkingstonphotography

-Adam - A hospitality veteran with over 20 years of kitchen, bar, events and restaurant management. He is a massive foody and a very good home cook and can’t wait to get stuck into some new cuisine and learn some new skills and recipes. The kitchen is his happy place and he loves to cook dinner for people as much as possible. He is confident to serve up dinner parties, roasts and BBQs for large groups or families if the opportunity arises and he would be so happy doing it! Over the last few years he has developed a huge interest in gardening, local ingredients and fresh produce. He turned all available sunny spaces in the garden into thriving herb, cucumber, chili and tomato spots. He's super keen to learn more in farming, permaculture, organic gardening, beer brewing, wine making and anything else. He absolutely loves all kinds of music and would love to pick up an instrument again.

-Ally has worked hard from the age of 13 in boarding kennels and animal rescue, to team Leader of a professional cleaning and housekeeping company, to being a manager in the busiest bar/restaurant in her home city, working 50 hours a week, managing a total team of 134 staff. Not afraid of hard work, getting her hands dirty or making a fool of herself in the process, always wanting to help everyone before herself. But most importantly making people laugh, laughter is everything, or at least she thinks she’s funny!

-Ally has such a heart for animals and being outside, dogs especially. She loves dance, art and has a great eye for photography, although maybe not as good as Adam! And she’s not ashamed to admit she’s a proper nerd for Pokémon, cartoons and video games. (Ok maybe a little ashamed!) Let’s share our favorite music! Life’s boring without a sound track.

We are both culture seekers who love exploring new places and meeting new people. We have spent a month backpacking around Europe, 5 weeks in Thailand and 4 weeks in Japan and it was during these adventures we realised that we never want to go home. We love new food experiences and want to eat our way around the world!
