I had a really nice time at Laura's place. Due to the storms there was plenty of cleaning to be done and I found it fulfilling to play a little roll in that. Laura is a very pleasant host that really takes care of all your needs. She even introduced me to a mancircle group where I spend a nice afternoon. The house is getting prettier each day and is already quite convenient. The forest in the back of the garden and the garden itself is lovely and nice to spend time in. During my stay we even brought a sauna in 👌🏼☺️ The communication was good and open. I really recommend this place to go and spend time with Laura as well 😁

Samuele is someone who never needs to be told what to do. Just tell him how you’d like the work to turn out, and he’ll plan everything on his own. He works incredibly hard. We had never mixed or poured concrete before, but Sam knew exactly how to do it—and he did it so smoothly and beautifully, just like a professional. My room floor would never have been finished without him 😆 And honestly, we probably would have gotten the mix wrong too 😁 Thank you so much, Sam—for the floor, for the walls, and for the care you put into every detail. Even though it’s just a small earth house, you worked with such precision and dedication. If you ever have the chance to visit Thailand again, please come see me—and stay in the earth house you helped build with your own hands 😊 Thank you so, so much. PJ.

We truly need Ayaka on the team, because she’s like the gentle link that keeps everything flowing smoothly. Even while she’s covered in clay like the rest of us, during breaks she naturally steps into a caring role—making tea or coffee, bringing water, and looking after everyone. It feels almost like her instinct, because she genuinely enjoys taking care of others. You’ve come to the right place, Ayaka. Whenever you return to Thailand, you’re always welcome to stay at my home. I’d love to cook together and share plenty of delicious meals until we’re happily full. See you soon or later. PJ.

I really adore Paula. She inspires me to plan more carefully and to work in a more structured, step-by-step way. (I’m not the most organized host, haha 😆) After work, she would often come help with cooking, and we shared many warm, cozy meals together. I truly hope you’ll come back to visit me again, Paula. Thank you for all the joyful moments we shared. PJ. 😊

Both of them are volunteers who have exceeded my expectations in the most wonderful way. They work with such dedication, not watching the clock, but instead flowing with the natural rhythm of the work to ensure everything is completed in its own time and context. This is especially beautiful for earth-building—where applying clay to walls truly requires patience, care, and thoughtful attention to detail. I genuinely appreciate them both so much. They are true professionals, gracefully showing up in the role of volunteers. Thanks Mathilde and Nicolas Hope to meet you again when you visit Thailand. 😊 PJ.

Klara and Simon were the perfect workaways.
As well as being nice people who were interested in permaculture, they both worked very hard and completed all the tasks that were set.
They were keen to learn about how we worked on the land.
The jobs were mainly composting our trees using our organic fertiliser, clearing, cutting grass, raking, doing the orange fruit harvest. They used their initiative and were good at working independently. We had a great week with them chatting about life and learning about their world travels. They would be an asset to anyone who hosts them .

Connecting with Mauro feels like something the universe always had planned — a little bit of divine timing 💫 I’m so grateful everything aligned for us to spend this time together, sharing music, culture, stories, and genuine friendship. Mauro has a truly beautiful spirit and a calm, grounded energy that immediately enriches any space he’s in. Beyond that, he brings a strong work ethic and quiet discipline to everything he does. This not only makes him a gifted artist (do ask him to play — his renditions of Argentinian folk classics are absolutely beautiful!), but also a reliable, thoughtful, and supportive member of any team or community. He’s also a wonderful cook, and it was such a pleasure to experience the warmth and generosity he brings into the kitchen. Sharing meals prepared by Mauro felt like an extension of his culture and care — simple, soulful, and deeply enjoyable. I only wish we had more time and the right conditions to make fuller use of his incredible skill set — his Argentinian wood-fired clay ovens are something special, and I’m still hoping we’ll bring him back one day to build one here. During his stay in the autumn, Mauro shared the space with several other volunteers and welcomed a steady flow of guests. Everyone experienced him as respectful, engaged, and genuinely contributing to the atmosphere of the place. He added something intangible but deeply felt... especially in the quiet evenings, where his music made everything more memorable. Mauro, we would love to welcome you back anytime... perhaps again next autumn! It would be a joy 🥰

We had the most amazing time with Mark! This was our first Workaway experience so we weren’t sure what to expect. Mark immediately welcomed us to his home and showed us around the neighborhood, you can tell how much he loves his home and sharing it with others. We did meaningful work that was very manageable and enjoyable. Mark was mindful to not have us working outside when it was too windy, and he left us plenty of time to explore the area. He gave awesome recommendations for food, hikes, and historical sites. Oh and his cooking!!! He took such great care of us, we are so grateful for his generosity. I hope we can come back soon to visit our new friend!!

We stayed two weeks in Irina’s place. Irina is a wonderful Host and great workaway. She was incredibly welcoming and we were part of the family from the moment we arrived. Our tasks were - feeding and taking care of the animals - cleaning duties - gardening and - construction work (we built a pathway through the jungle) which were pretty cool. The animals are super cute and friendly. It is an absolute joy to take care of them. There is a lot of flexibility in the work and the hours. On one day we worked more hours to finish the project and we got one more day off. Thank you very much for having us. It was a great adventure! We cooked, laught and heared music together and met new friends. ☺️ We had lots of fun and enjoyed our time here very much. Koh Phayam has lots to offer and one of the most beautiful sunsets on our journey. Highly recommended! We will definitely come back. ❤️

I stayed 2 weeks at the finca. It is a beautiful small paradise in the depths of the mountains of Andalucia. My day started with a nice morning Tai Chi and Yoga with an older spanish man Teo and Maria. Both were pretty joyful and positive. The food overall was versitile with lots of fruits vegtables and desserts as well. I was surprised how creative the vegan kitchen can be. The work was mainly some paintings or maintenance work outside. Sometimes I helped cooking as well. I liked to spent my free time just sitting outside, reading a book or journaling. I really appreciate the stillness and peace in nature. There are possibilities to go for a walk as well. Maybe mountainbiking could be a good option as well. Before dinner I could participate in an one hour medition with Maria and other volunteers. Sometimes Hannes played beautiful songs for us on the guitar afterwards. I told Maria that I was curious about spirituality. She explained me some topics and borrowed me some spiritual books. She even invited me to a spiritual event. I am very grateful for that. Maria is very joyful and caring. Always smiling and open. Generally the people there are very funny positive good people. Its a nice small environment. Hannes and Michael took me to some Yoga classes as well which I really appreciate. One day there was a „Finca day“ which is a day where only self grown food from this finca could be eaten. A cool idea to see how much food you would actually need to be self sufficient. All in all I am grateful for the hospitality and the good people there. All the best!

It was my first Workaway experience and also my first time in Europe, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better start. The homestead is absolutely beautiful, and I can really feel how much love and care they put into everything. I learned so many new things during my stay, and every day felt meaningful in its own way. I’m truly grateful for this experience, and I would love to come back again if I have the chance in the future. Thank you so much for everything 💗

We had a very nice time with Naoki. Even though he is very young, he behaved very maturely, ready to help and learn, taking initiative and doing tasks with enthusiasm and interest. We were generally a good match as he was very interested in many things we offer like yoga, meditation, veganism etc. Welcome anytime, thank you for the help, the music and your presence :D

We had the pleasure of hosting Edi and Baris as our volunteers for two wonderful weeks. They contributed immensely to our moments together, sharing their personal insights and collaborating exceptionally well with the team. Their work was thoughtfully planned, and they actively supported our farm and agricultural activities, applying their knowledge and experience effectively. Moreover, they helped us prepare a special presentation and assisted in finding online courses for educational purposes. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and positive attitude made a meaningful impact on our community. We highly recommend Edie and Baris to any organization seeking motivated, creative, and helpful volunteers!❤️🥰🌻🍂

Melli and Alex were great enthusiastic volunteers, Dibbi a sweet stay-at-home cat. I often feel bad giving harder or less attractive jobs to other people. Their response to that was "absolutely not! You have to make the most of us..." So that is what I did, guilt free. Very hard working, they got loads done, and very cheerfully too. A real pleasure to host.

Christine and Kevin joined 2 other workaway volunteers at my place for several days. They were enthusiastic, easy going, easy to communicate with, and pitched in well on everything requested. they were skilled at brushcutting, mowing, wood splitting, and gardening. they got along easily with other volunteers who arrived on the same day. And they made a delicious Singaporean dish for our dinner one evening. I highly recommend hosting Christine and Kevin. they are good value.

Working with Chiara was a genuine pleasure. She embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and showed remarkable perseverance, pushing through difficulties without complaint. She was highly motivated to learn new things and consistently demonstrated a growth mindset. Beyond her professional qualities, she was wonderful company, and we enjoyed some great outings together. She also engaged openly and warmly with the people in the community around us.

Lisa and Neil were amazing hosts, in a beautiful part of NZ! They were very welcoming and looked after us generously, their accommodation was beautiful and it was such a pleasure to help with their beautiful garden. The location was lovely, a short walk to shops and restaurants and an even shorter walk to the beach. Their workaway is also in driving distance from fishing spots and beautiful Piha! They provided everything we needed to work and more. As well as helping us out with time off by lending us books to find local walks and suggested places we should visit locally and on our travels. Thank you for having us, and for your lovely home made muesli! I would highly recommend staying with Lisa and Neil if you enjoy a peaceful and independent workaway with an interesting and generous couple. We hope to see you again!
