  We are trying to build a laboratory for a small ecological and harmonious hamlet. From an agricultural point of view, what I do here could be described as a huge forest garden.
  
  You will be working with me - a woodsman with a computer and a smart phone^^. My mother lives in the village and does walks + mushroom workshops and she runs a "nature stay" B&B in one of the houses here on the farm - especially during the summer/autumn months. Sometimes a friend or two will visit me or come to help us with a project. But often, the atmosphere is rather quiet or "holiday" during the tourist season.
  
  Activities:
  Gardening, eco-construction, forest/path management + firewood collection (moving/stacking/splitting), syntropic agriculture :), farm maintenance, renovations, taking care of the fruit trees and the nursery and DIY projects. It all depends on the season!

  Other driving philosophies -
  Biomimicry, low tech, anti-capitalism, feminism (!) , permaculture, sustainability, food sovereignty, social justice.
  
  *I do not tolerate racist/misogynistic or other oppressive behaviors. My background is anarchist/very political - urban and rural squatting. *
  
  I do my best to match your skills and desires to the tasks at hand.
  25 hours per week depending on the time/tasks/season/needs/intensity of the task. Often we work together but it depends on the task. We will be very clear about our collaboration in order to avoid any misunderstandings.
  
  So, after the first two days, we will have a discussion together to see how your stay is going - how we can improve things. Clear and direct communication is very important. And it works both ways =)
  
  It is essential for me that you have a positive stay here!
  
  Physical description of the place:
  We are located on a south facing mountain (39H) with two rivers within a ten/twenty-five minute walk from the main house. There is a sauna (to be repaired or dismantled...) and a spring on the grounds that provides water from November to June/July, after which we rely mainly on rainwater and drinking water from the village.
  
  The forest is everywhere! It is the perfect place to be surrounded by nature, hike and explore for hours without seeing anyone.
  
  At the same time, we are only a 5 minute drive from Vabre (where there are buses to Castres 4-5 times a day - except Sundays!)
  
  Accommodation:
  Caravan (pictured), sometimes another cabin, tent space. There is a basic outdoor kitchen (gas stove/water/sink) that you can use.
  
  Normally I prefer to take one person, but if you are a couple it can work, although I probably can't accommodate you for as long and the tasks may be different (e.g. more collective work on the wood/forest). But we will talk about it before you decide to come.
  
  Shared dry toilets and solar shower (in the photo) + more swimming in the river and ONCE a week possibility to do laundry at a relative's house in Vabre.
  
  FOOD:
  Breakfast prepared individually.
  Lunch + dinner sometimes together and sometimes alone. We will organize ourselves according to what we all want.
  Food is organic, local or found in the trash - 90% of the food bought is organic. Healthy food is very important to me.
  We eat mainly vegetarian, but not always.
  I don't drink coffee and rarely buy it. If you drink it you have to bring some with you - or make your own with Dandelion

  S'efforce de construire un laboratoire pour un petit hameau écologique et harmonieux. D'un point de vue agricole, ce que je fais ici pourrait être décrit comme un enorme jardin-foret .
  
  C'est avec moi que vous travaillerez - un homme des bois avec un ordi et un smart phone^^. Ma mère habite dans le village et fait des balades + ateliers de champignons et elle tient une chambre d'hôtes "sejour nature" dans l'une des maisons ici sur la ferme - surtout pendant les mois d'été/automne. Parfois, un ami.e ou deux me rendent visite ou vient nous aider dans un projet. Mais souvent, l'ambiance est plutôt calme ou "vacancière" pendant la saison touristique.
  
  Activités :
  Jardinage, éco-construction, gestion des forêts/chemins + collecte de bois de chauffage (déplacer/empiler/fendre), agriculture syntropique :), entretien de la ferme, rénovations, s'occuper des arbres fruitiers et de la pépinière et projets de bricolage. Tout depend de la saison!

  Je fais de mon mieux pour faire correspondre vos compétences et vos désirs aux tâches à accomplir.
  25 heures par semaine en fonction du temps/des tâches/de la saison/des besoins/de l'intensité de la tâche. Souvent nous travaillons ensemble mais cela dépend de la tâche. Nous serons très clairs sur notre collaboration afin d'éviter tout malentendu.
  
  Ainsi, après les deux premiers jours, on aura une discussion ensemble pour voir comment se déroule votre séjour - comment on peut ameillorer les choses. Une communication claire et directe est très importante. Et ça fonctionne dans les deux sens =)
  
  Il est essentiel pour moi que vous passiez un séjour positif ici!
  
  Description physique :
  Nous sommes situés sur une montagne orientée au sud (39H) avec deux rivières à dix/vingt-cinq minutes de marche de la maison principale. Il y a un sauna (à reparer ou demonter...) et une source sur le terrain qui fournit de l'eau de novembre à juin/juillet, après quoi nous dépendons principalement de l'eau de pluie et de l'eau potable du village.
  
  La forêt est omniprésente ! C'est l'endroit idéal pour être entouré par la nature, faire des randonnées et explorer pendant des heures sans voir personne.
  En même temps, nous ne sommes qu'à 5 minutes en voiture de Vabre (où il y a des bus pour Castres 4-5 fois par jour - sauf le dimanche !)
  
  Hébergement :
  Caravane (sur la photo), parfois une autre cabane, espace tente. Il y a une cuisine extérieure de base (réchaud à gaz/eau/évier) que vous pouvez utiliser.
  
  Normalement, je préfère prendre une seule personne, mais si vous êtes un couple, cela peut fonctionner, bien que je puisse probablement pas vous accueillir aussi longtemps et que les tâches puissent être différentes (par exemple, plus de travail collectif sur le bois/la forêt). Mais on en parlera avant que vous décidiez de venir.
  
  Toilettes sèches communes et douche solaire (dans la photo) + plus baignade dans la rivière et UNE FOIS par semaine possibilité de faire la lessive chez un parent à Vabre.
  
  ALIMENTATION :
  Petit déjeuner préparé individuellement.
  Déjeuner + dîner parfois ensemble et parfois seul. Nous nous organiserons en fonction de ce que nous voulons tous.
  La nourriture est biologique, locale ou trouvée dans les poubelles - 90% de la nourriture achetée est biologique. La nourriture saine est très importante pour moi.
  Nous mangeons principalement végétarien, mais pas toujours.
  Je ne bois pas de café et j'en acheté rarement. Si vous en buvez il faut en apporter avec vous - où en faire vous meme avec du Pissenlit
  
  J'aime bien faire des vidéoconférences avec les gens avant de dire oui =)

  -finishing closing the greenhouse and plant care inside it.
  
  -digging trenches for irrigation pipes
  
  -planting+watering around established fruit trees (around 250-300)
  
  -clearing around fruit trees - chop and drop and/or mulching
  
  -helping put up new fencing against deer and wild boar +maintenance
  
  -clearing/making paths
  
  -Making, hoeing, clearing, weeding (hello brambles and nettles!) garden beds
  
  -house renovations
  
  -moving stuff around and general farm/house cleaning and maintenance

  Sleeping the "caravan-cabin" (insulated, with a wood stove, compost toilet and a very basic attached kitchen with a gas hob, for the warmer months)

  *Part time paid position* for 1 person only or split it with two people - to be discussed. One month minimum. Come first with one of the below options.
  18 euros/hour for 4hrs and 15 hours of normal work exchange.
  
  And you would cover your food costs - we could eat together lunch or dinners :)
  
  There are two small supermarkets accessible in Vabre for you or going to bus to Castres or buying food in bulk with us/or going to Castres with us.

  25 hours of work a week where we would provide your food, 90% organic, (you would cook for yourselves unless we eat together =) I eat meat very occasionally, and butter, eggs and cheese almost daily. Sometimes fish. Almost always bio/local.

  There are 5 buses from Castres to Vabre and the last one is at 17:10/18:10 Mon-Fri (Saturdays at 17:10). If we have to pick you up from Castres we will ask you to provide money about 10 euros total for the trip.
