It was an absolute pleasure hosting Claudia & Marco -- we only with they could have stayed longer. From the start their communication was totally clear and reliable. They first joined us to help put together a big summer party and they immediately jumped into everything. They were respectful and kind. They then happily stayed for another 2 months
… read more and did every other job imaginable: gardening, painting, DIY, cleaning, ironing, sorting, and always with excellent attention to detail and with love for the house. They also got on fantastically with our other house guests and - as importantly as everything else -- were always a real pleasure to be around. They will be much missed and are welcome back any time -- whether on workaway or just to visit. Thanks again! Andrew and Saad
Romi and Maxi are both just wonderful -- we really cannot exaggerate how terrific they were to have staying with us, and how amazing it was have them helping us on workaway. Saad was very welcoming and accommodating during my time at his place out east London. Hes a very smiley easy going guy. I really enjoyed my stay here, cooking meals, painting the cabinet and chatting to the other people in the house. The house is decorated very nicely especially the red cabinet on the top floor ! It is too difficult to express how wonderful it was to spend the last two months at Saad's house, I can only say that my time at his house was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had, his house is very beautiful, the people who live inside are very friendly, the neighborhood is really quiet and the human quality that Saad and Andrew

I stayed with Saad & Andrew for a couple weeks as an interim stop between my travels. They were so helpful, welcoming and made me feel right at home immediately. Their hospitality and generosity eliminated a lot of the stress that coincides with moving to a new country. They were super easy to work for/with and really helped me get on my feet here

Tobias stayed with us for a few weeks and was a tremendous help around the house. He's a very quiet and understated person but is very motivated and self directed. He was reliable, took a lot of initiative with tasks around the house and could work independently when required. He was also very respectful around the house and looked after

I was privileged enough to stay with Saad and Andrew as a Workawayer for over two months, and I absolutely loved it! Their home is beautiful and I learned a great deal. It is always a treat to chat to them because the conversations are so stimulating, yet still filled with jokes and laughter. I love food, and I can easily say that I’ve had some of the best meals in my life here.

The communication is something that I treasure a lot and with Saad I really felt comfortable with sharing close conversations and any question that I had about the neighborhood and the city. In that way, Saad is a person who is always willing to offer a help in hand in order to have the best experience in London (if it is your first time knowing the city).
I'm very grateful for all the attention both Saad and Andrew offered me. They were the kind of people you want to spend your afternoon with. Sometimes they invited me to share some meal or a cup of tea and during my working hours they were aware of whatever I may needed. By the way, the work is not from another universe, they have the equipment and tools to help you do the work properly and you just have to be sure to have a well organised schedule.I enjoyed so much working in their garden! (and also removing painting from their stairs).
I had the opportunity to travel to the city every day and get to know many of the touristic places of London and I also spent some days in the house and it was also great. I really felt part of the family and that is something that I won't forget. I felt safe, listened to and accompanied with them.
I definitely would like to meet them again.

… read more dinners and evenings together and Vlad very much became a part of the Earlham family. Vlad put his skills to use in a variety of tasks from french polishing antique furniture, to hanging pictures, stripping paint from the staircase, repainting doors and painting and decorating doors. He is quickly able to understand the task and appreciate what we were trying to achieve, and was independently able to look up youtube videos and websites to figure out the best way of achieving our vision. He has a very good eye for detail and we really appreciated his contribution towards making our unruly house feel more homely. With his expertise in mens clothing and design he also helped me to redesign my wardrobe and help me understand how to dress better and more sustainably.
Rather than simply doing the work, Vlad was an equal participant in helping us decide what was right for the house and which tasks needed to be prioritised.We really miss Vlad (and the weekly pizza evening he would treat us too!) - he was such a wonderful presence around the house. I really hope he will come to visit us again soon ! In the meantime - if you are approached by Vlad for a potential work away then consider yourself lucky and jump at the opportunity!

The work is interesting and diverse, in a Victorian house there are always things to do :), and Saad is flexible regarding working time so you can choose which time is best for you.
