Description
We are a small Eco resort offering the best of the beaches and the jungle at the Tip of Borneo , Kudat , Sabah , East Malaysia. We have a lot of sustainable core values at the heart of our thinking and especially the welfare and development of the local Rungus community. We have accommodation , of traditional Rungus style nestled in amongst the jungle and a restaurant right on the beach at the Tip Of Borneo . With our volunteers we like to offer a " win win" situation so as to ensure that both parties ( us and you) are able to get the most out of each other for mutual benefit.

Travellers will be helping alongside our Rungus staff ( Rungus people are the indigenous tribe up here) , so Workawayers have the possibility to learn more about the Rungus culture and their language. We also have a Rungus museum for guests and workawayers to visit to find out more.
Aide
We always have a number of projects going on and regularly have large ( school based) volunteer groups staying with us that we plce into the local community to help witch variety of projects. A lot of what we do is aimed at improving the lifestyle of the local Rungus community either through options of employment direct supply of materials and goods. We are passionate about protecting the environment and educating the locals about the importance of the natural environment and all that it offers, this with the aim that they will start to protect it a lot more.
We would really appreciate a Chinese Mandarin speaker to help our daughter with learning Mandarin.

Our daughter, Margaret, attends a Chinese school and although doing very well she would love someone to help her, preferably a Chinese native speaker.
Hébergement
We have separate accommodation for our volunteers in 2 purpose built little chalets ( shared toilets and showers with guests though)
Normally we offer free accommodation and provide breakfast and lunch. Howard will give the volunteers a ride to the coastline after lunch and then they have dinner at one of the eateries and if they would like to be picked up, along with the customers in the evening, no problem.

We always encourage our volunteers to get out and explore the area, this way they can talk knowledgeably with any guests that may ask them questions. We are a family run operation and always consider the volunteers to be apart of our close team.

We had an amazing time staying with Howard and his family . Howard and Lorina are incredibly welcoming and generous people. Our work was hard at times but rewarding and we were happy to support the project. We would recommend to anyone who wants to experience life surrounded by beautiful jungle and beaches.

A fantastic opportunity to stay in one of the best locations in Borneo. Howard is a great host, and has a exceptional resort. You'll get dirty, hot, sweaty, but the work is rewarding. You'll end each day sitting and relaxing on the most beautiful beaches chilling with a beer. Sounds good right?
