  Description

  Semi-retired I am married. My wife works fulltime from home or commute to Calgary. Our kids have their own careers and are out of the house. We have 2 large dogs (Leonberger and Boxer) and 3 old horses. We build our Timberframe home in 2006-07 on 23 acres of land overlooking the Alberta Foothills (John Ware Ridge) with in the background the majestic Rocky Mountains to see. It is very quiet and in the middle of nature, bordering Kananaskis, remote but not too remote. We are 1/2 hour SW of South-Calgary and 1-1/2 hour from Banff. You do need a car to get around or we can bring you on certain days into Calgary if you desire. We have 2 bedrooms available with queen-size beds with a shared bathroom for those 2 bedrooms (we have our own) Not only are we surrounded for hiking but also cute little towns with a western atmosphere.

  We are Dutch from origin but live for over 30 years in Canada. We choose this location because it is one of the most beautiful areas in Western Canada. We travel ourselves extensively and know how it is to experience the real local way of living here. We will show you around here locally so you can enjoy it too.

  We have fallen trees what needs cleanup, cut and split. I would say in May. Also plant flowers in the flower boxes (end May/early June) Another project is dry-wall part of the basement. Preferable a couple who can use the chain-saw unsupervised, can carry drywall sheets to the basement and install / finish this.

  Hébergement

  You sleep in your own bedroom with a queen-size bed. Your bathroom you will share with another workaway guest or if you come as a couple it is just yours. The kitchen we all share. We have a gym in the basement.
  Food is included.
