I had a wonderful time staying with this family. I was originally going to stay for a couple of weeks, but we got along so well that it turned into a couple of months. The family and I really clicked and had many wonderful discussions over meals and enjoyed many board games together. We also partook in other activities, such as harvesting wild

I really enjoyed showing their daughter new things, like cooking techniques and programming. She is very bright, independant and responsible, and has empathy beyond her years.
I would highly recommend staying with this family.Ce workawayer a choisi de garder privé son profil mais peut être contacté par les autres workawayers concernant ce feedback.

Parker sent us a last-minute request to be hosted for a week. We didn't videochat before, but we got along immediately when he entered our family. We were impressed by Parker's clear and open communication (in both English, French, Dutch and German), his practical skills (who would have thought that he could help us with fixing the woodwork in our
… read more camper, remove tiles in the garden, install a camera for the car, help us build an IKEA-bed) and his natural instinct on how to become good friends and do fun and educational activities with our 10-year old daughter Mila. Mila practiced English with Parker, he thought her some tricks on computer programming and they had a great time going out for grocery shopping together.
While Parker planned to stay for one week, he ended up staying for over 2 months. We had a lot of fun playing board games together, watching our favourite tv-shows and were also impressed by the delicious cooking skills our workawayer showcased on the nights he was in charge of cooking. Thanks to him we discovered finger-licking Asian recipes, but also very memorable burgers and cakes.
Moreover, Parker is very organized and able to keep our space even neater than we do ourselves, he helps spontaneously in all household chores, folds laundry that is not even his own and entertained us with interesting stories and opinions about the most diverse topics.
To be honest we will miss Parker when he will leave our house and continues his European and soon even Chinese adventure. It was a joy having him around and we could recommend him to all other Workaway hosts he applies to.

This was our first workaway experience so we didn't know what to expect. Veerle, Pablo and Mila were all very welcoming. We spent most of our time with Mila as Veerle and Pablo were busy with work. Mila was very kind and shared her toys with our two children. We only stayed for a couple of nights but helped with cooking, taking care of Mila,

We were able to park our campervan on the driveway and had easy access to surrounding areas with the train station being so close by. We had time to take a day trip into Amsterdam which is a short train ride away.
Veerle and Pablo spoke very good English and Mila understands a lot, this was very welcoming for our children and helped them to feel comfortable in a new environment.
We would have liked to have learnt more about the vegan organization, maybe this would have been possible with a longer stay.
Thank you Veerle, Pablo and Mila for sharing your time and home with us.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Having Ruben around in our house was a dream coming true. He is very modest about it, but he has a extraordinary talent for structure, organizing and cleanliness, which was so incredibly welcome in our -often chaotic- Veggie House. In the three weeks he spend with us, he literally turned our office and the rest of the building into a shiny castle.
… read more He even re-arranged all the drawers and cabinets of the kitchen in such a way we have way more space and a better overview now. At our office we never took the time to provide a logical structure for our campaign materials. Ruben took up the challenge without hesitation and within a few days the storage room was turned into a completely labeled, well-organized environment. We are amazed and so thankful for his help!
Ruben is kind, hard-working and even though he might seem a bit quiet, you notice he is ambitious, adventurous and very mature for his age. I was a pleasure to wake up and he would be downstairs already. Often he was the one waking up early and he would spoil us with the most delicious oatmeal and fruit breakfasts. When our daughter Mila refused to eat her oatmeal one morning, the next day he came up with a pink version (and she loved it!).
Ruben, we already miss you. Actually Mila just whispered in my ear that she hopes you will return soon. You will always have a family in the Netherlands. Everyone in the office sends you greetings and we hope you have a nice time ahead at your next workaway-hosts. We could recommend you 200%!

Almere is a great place, it is easy to get around whether in Almere with its bicycle lanes everywhere or in the Netherlands with its great public transport system. Veerle and Pablo's house is directly next to the train station on the one side and close to the nature reserves on the other side, which is really convenient.
I would like to thank you for a great first workaway experience I enjoyed my time in the Netherlands and I wish you and the organization all the best. I hope I'll be able to visit some time in the future and that you'll be able to maintain the structure and cleanliness I provided ;-)Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.
