Es waren wunderschone 3 Wochen mit ganzer Familie. Meine Tochter hat viel von den Kindern gelernt, obwohl si fast kein Deutsch verstanden hat :)

Chris mit Jule sind sehr offene und flexible Menschen - wir haben Kompromisse gemacht und ich konnte sogar viele nette Aufgaben mit meinem kleinem Tochter zusammen machen, wie z.B. pflucken, aufraumen, kochen und auch zusammen mit Kindern spielen oder zum Strand spazieren, was sehr nett war. Wir hatten eigenes Fahrrad zur Verfugung und wenn es notwendig war, Chris oder Jule hat uns mit dem Auto genommen. Vielen Dank dafur.
Wir haben auch eine tolle Grill-party mit allen anderen Familien im Garten organisiert. Alle Bewohner waren sehr freundlich.

Ich war für eine knappe Woche bei der Familie von Christopher und Jule, allerdings waren Jule und ein Kind diese Woche selbst unterwegs und nicht da. Ich habe mich direkt gut aufgehoben gefühlt und alle waren sehr nett und offengeschlossen. Die Umgebung ist richtig schön, ruhig und es gibt viel zu entdecken.

What a lovely 10 days we had with you all. Thank you so much for being so welcoming and having us. You have a very special and beautiful place, we just loved it. Ich bin nun schon das 3. Mal bei der Familie von Christopher und Jule. Erst für 2 Wochen, dann wollten die Kinder mich unbedingt nochmal sehen und ich hatte auch Sehnsucht, sodass ich für 1 Woche nochmal bei Ihnen war und letztendlich habe ich Ende Februar 2021 meinen Geburtstag mit der Familie verbracht und bin dann den ganzen März dort

Meine Ernährung habe ich in der Zeit um 180 Grad verändert, denn es gab dort viel Bio Obst und Gemüse und natürlich ausschließlich vegetarische Gerichte. Das war eine große Herausforderung für meinen Körper, bei den vielen anfallenden Aufgaben. Einige Tage vor der Abreise hat sich dann mein Körper umgestellt, sodass ich diese Ernährungsweise zu Hause weiterführe und dadurch weniger Fleisch essen muss. Danke dafür!
Aber nun zur Arbeit: Ich konnte flexibel in den Tag starten und mir die verschiedensten Aufgaben individuell einteilen, aber immer nach dem Mondkalender. Bei meinen ersten beiden Aufenthalten bin ich nämlich immer ziemlich früh wach gewesen, vor allen Anderen, aber bei meinem letzten Aufenthalt habe ich ziemlich viel und lange geschlafen. Das war aber alles kein Problem. Es fühlte sich eben wie Urlaub an und der Rest des Tages wurde mit Arbeiten und den vielen Kindern vom gesamten Hof verbracht. Die Aufgaben, die für mich bestimmt waren, waren alle sehr kraftintensiv wie z.B. Holz spalten/ einlagern, Arbeiten mit Granitsteinen zur Fertigstellung des Steinkreises, Vorbereitungen zum Grassehen etc. Auf der Obstwiese habe ich viele Tage verbracht und das war wohl das anstrengendste während meines Aufenthaltes. Dort musste, in steilen und unebenen Gelände, der Baumschnitt weggebracht werden und bestimmte (verwurzelte) Bäume und Sträucher entfernt werden, die den Obstbäumen schaden. Das war schon sehr anspruchsvoll. Nachdem die Arbeit getan war, durfte ich noch beim essen zubereiten helfen oder die Kinder haben mich davon abgehalten und sind an mir herumgeklettert. Da wusste ich, mein Abend wird nicht lang.
Die Kinder sind sehr neugierig, wollen ständig etwas neues ausprobieren und haben ständig neue Fragen, sodass es am Essenstisch nie ruhig zugehen konnte oder ich nicht zum essen und ausruhen kam. Aber was macht man nicht alles für Kinder.
In meiner freien Zeit bin ich mit den Kinder joggen gegangen, wir waren am Strand oder haben auf der Wiese herum getobt. Bei Regenwetter spielten wir Brettspiele oder haben im Buch gelesen.
Die Kinder haben dort wirklich ein tolles naturintensives Leben. Es geht definitiv auch ohne viel Internet und Fernsehen!
Ich wurde während meines 2. Aufenthaltes hervorragend und intensiv in die Familie integriert und fühle mich seit dem als großer Bruder. Das ist es wohl, was mich immer wieder in den hohen Norden zieht. When I got to Fleisburg I got lost and took two buses that took me to different places. My Internet was not helping me much and I was so tired, I was really about to sit down and give up my hopes of finding the address of the home where I would spend my vacations. This Family is very cute, even the Animals are very funny. there is a hen that is very intrepid and climbs on the roof of her chicken coop and flies. The food is exquisite, the tomatoes are so sweet, it makes my mouth water. All foods are Organic. for me it was very entertaining to go to cut the salad and the flowers in the garden.
The children are so adorable, their names are Joran, Rovin and Marun each one is different in their personalities, they will surely change by the time you meet them. But I have known them with these tastes; Joran is the oldest of the brothers, he likes Music, especially fixing things, repairing things. These guys are very creative, one day Joran made bread with a printed flower, really very delicious. He repairs any object, he is on his way to adolescence and he has a kind heart, generous and kind. Rovin is a talkative boy with curiosity, always smiling and very calm. Rovin likes Nature and Planets. I remember one day we went with Rovin and Marun to the beach on a bike on such a beautiful day and Rovin made sandwiches, he is an independent, kind, generous, sweet and talkative guy. Marun is a creative girl, she likes to paint, she also likes to play with her friends from her neighboring houses. I also met, Jessi, she speaks Spanish and she is also very friendly. This place is very nice and relaxed, close to the beach.
These guys are adorable and their imaginations are truly incredible! These guys always know how to party. Their parents educate them in the best way, I really learned a lot with them.
Jule, she is very nice and laid back, I really appreciate her sympathy. I learned many things that I keep in my heart.

I had an amazing time at this special place run by Christopher and Jule. From the first day I felt welcomed and treated like a part of the family. Christopher and Jule are very caring and intelligent people, and we spent many hours talking about various interesting topics, art, spirituality, language and many other things. … read more musicians and I anjoyed listening to them playing their own songs and playing music with friends. Their kids are lively, very creative and full of energy. I enjoyed playing with them, making short videos with toy racing cars which we then edited on computer, we had a great time with that, also going to fishing, playing soccer, practicing German and English, playing chess and many other things. The work I did was always interesting, never too hard, and they always made sure that I am feeling ok with work and have enough free time. I was helping them with various things, like painting the windows, waxing the cellar floor, putting isolation and cement layer on the side of the basement windows, which we then painted. Also cleaning and painting the tractor, digging the holes for tree planting, cutting the grass, preparing the firewood and other things. I learned about different methods of gardening and soil fertilization from Christopher, which was really interesting and useful. I also enjoyed very much cooking with them and learning new recipes. I myself never felt that I am doing a classic work, instead I felt that I was part of the group of people who wanted to do good things for nature and their surrounding and helping them was happy and fulfilling experience for me.
The place is full with many wonderful people from all families living there and we spent lots of great time together, in the evenings outside, playing and listening music, baking stockbrot (German campfire bread on stick), pancakes with herbs and other delicious meals.
I will always be grateful for all the kindness, love and creativity I experienced while staying at this wonderful place. Without a doubt, this was my favourite Workaway experience, and I cannot recommend it enough.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Katharina and I had a lovely stay with an incredible warm-hearted and welcoming family. Words are not really capable to describe them or the experience we had. But what we can say is that it's a nice family and community which is surrounded by a beautiful landscape.

Playing with the kids was also really funny and we enjoyed the lively atmosphere :)

I planned to stay here for the month of September 2017 but it became six weeks after another host canceled at the last minute, and I'm so glad they did. They were always happy to help me with my German including answering any questions that I had (lots of "was ist der Unterschied zwischen...").
Christopher seems to have traveled everywhere and studied every language at some point so he was full of interesting information as well as plenty of solid advice about things to see and do in Germany and the surrounding countries. Plus, Jüle is an Ossie (East German) so you can ask her all your questions about what it was like living in the GDR! She is also the kindest person you will ever meet - she even got me Der Kleine Prinz as a leaving gift.
Their children are also very nice, although quite hyper at times, and they offered me lots of opportunities to practice my German; I hope they also learned up a few things from me.
I was also lucky to be able to get to know the other families living in the house as well as some of the guests who were staying there at the time.
The building I stayed in is where the solar heating system is located so it was always nice and warm. It was also almost always empty so I could relax or study in peace. The main building is absolutely gorgeous and it was so surprising to learn that they designed all the interior spaces themselves, using only natural materials of course.
The food was always delicious, and I don't think I've ever felt so healthy. There was a constant supply of great German bread for lunch or in case I got hungry. They also have endless reserves of home-made apple juice and jams from their many fruit trees.
The work was always varied and very flexible, they always let me sleep in if I was tired or take a day-off when the weather was nice. There was always a very calm and relaxed atmosphere. For example, I did a lot of painting, wood-splitting and general garden work etc. I also got to take part in their annual harvest of the apple trees in their nearby orchard as well as have a go at pressing the juice.
I also did a bit of babysitting every now and then which was fine, and they always ensured that it wouldn't be for too long.
Honestly, the work was very satisfying and I always felt like I was contributing to their grand plan of what they wanted the place to become, even if the jobs themselves were only small steps.
The area around Siegum is always beautiful and you are within easy reach of Flensburg and Glücksburg and obviously the Baltic Sea (Ostsee). There is a lovely scenic route along the coast up the spit to Holnis, and you can even walk from Flensburg to Denmark if you are feeling particularly adventurous (I did!).
Like the rest of Schleswig-Holstein, the terrain is very flat so you can adventure by bike for as long as you want. Bikes are always available.
Mainly, I would like to say a huge DANKE to Jüle and Christopher, as well as everyone else I met and who made my first Workaway an unforgettable experience. I truly hope to visit again at the end of my year in Germany,
