    Description

**Updated 12/10/2021: We will start accepting folks again in April or May. We strongly prefer fully vaccinated visitors, but if you have your own accommodations we may consider a quarantine process instead. We are prioritizing folks who can stay with us for 2+ months.**

Our Farm is a regenerative farm located in the Western Catskills of New York in the town of Walton. We are also home to Glomus Commune, an intentional community of young farmers, homesteaders, entrepreneurs, artists, and educators who live together and work cooperatively on 92 beautiful acres. Our goals as a farm and community include providing quality food, education, and opportunity for right livelihood for our members and the wider community. We are majority queer, and it is important to us that you are queer friendly.

We have a huge barn, an 1880s farmhouse, and numerous outbuildings which we are in the process of retrofitting and updating. We operate a 1 acre no-till market garden, and sell our produce through a CSA and local farmers markets. We have many young perennial plantings throughout the property, including fruit and nut trees, berries, medicinal and culinary herbs, and mushrooms. We also manage and a flock of ~50 laying hens and ducks, a small herd of meat goats, and a few hundred meat chickens. Our diverse landscape includes forests, open pastures, numerous springs (which provide all of our water!), and of course the mighty East Brook. We look forward to working with you!

There is so much to learn about during your stay here; we're learning all the time! We encourage you to ask us questions and to be curious so that you get the most out of your experience with us. Of course, you will learn skills and knowledge directly related to the work you do here: homesteading, hand-scale farming/gardening, infrastructure maintenance/repair, etc. You can also learn all sorts of things you might not imagine from the 9+ of us who call this farm home. We all come from different places and have lots of stories, experiences, interests, and talents to share - from biology to meat processing to nursing to visual arts (drawing/painting/videography) to poetry to dumpster diving, and more.

We are also connected to a network of intentional communities, and many of us have lived in/visited multiple communities throughout the US (co-ops, communes, eco-projects, etc). If you're interested in learning about opportunities to live in community, or to better understand the nuts and bolts of how it can work, this is a unique opportunity.
