Description
Hey there! We're a family of 4 (including our Boxer, Mila) who recently moved to the small town of Point Roberts, Washington. Point Roberts is an exclave, separated from the rest of Washington by Canada. It's a unique town, with a rural atmosphere, but many amenities are right over the border (10 minutes away) and we're only a 30-minute drive from Vancouver Airport.
A little bit about us, Trent is from Australia, Sara is from California, and we have a little boy who just celebrated his first birthday. Sara is a Registered Nurse and Trent works from home, we enjoy hiking, running, spending time in nature, and are fellow workawayers!
We have a 6-year-old boxer, Mila, and we are going to visit Sara's family for 10 days over Thanksgiving (November 10-December 1) and would love to find someone to love her while we're gone. When we were living in San Diego, we had 2 girls come out from the East Coast last year to pet-sit, and Mila loved spending time with them.
Mila is relatively low maintenance but has adjusted to us being home with her the majority of the time. We usually take her out for a walk after breakfast and after dinner, but she will also need to be let out a couple times during the day too. As of September, she is still adjusting to the neighborhood, and she is okay with most dogs, though she often mirrors other dogs if they are barking or aggressive You're welcome to go out and explore our beautiful town, and make trips into Canada but if Mila is left alone for more than 4 hours, she'll have an accident inside. There's plenty of beaches and trails around, and most things are within walking/ biking distance (we can provide a bike) but, if you want to head into Canada, you'll most likely need a car.
You're welcome to arrive before we leave too, that way we can introduce you to Mila and show you around. You'll have your own room, and once we leave you'll have the house to yourself. We can also pick up/ drop you off to Vancouver airport if needed. We have WiFi, but cell coverage can be spotty. -

We are centrally located in Point Roberts and you can go almost anywhere on bike. It's a unique town, and somewhere that has to be experienced to understand it. There is a lot of history here that can be learned through our history center.

Autres infos...
There is a private trail at the end of our street, and public trails in both the southeast (Lily Point Marine Park), southwest (Lighthouse Marine Park, and northwest (Monument Park). We are surrounded by the ocean, but the most popular beach to visit is Maple Beach, and if you like fishing you can catch salmon right off the shore at Lighthouse Park). There is also a cafe, a tavern, a grocery store, and other local businesses.
