Description
Hello my friends . My paradise is located in front of the White Mountains (magnificent view), 500m from the first village and 7kms from a large seaside village with all stores.
The olives harwesting just finished so now I need people for the prunind of the trees and to burn all the branches that have been cut. My olive trees are grown without any fertilizers whatsoever, and my oil is made in a very old press (very rare today, they have all disappeared).
I have a mongolian yurt, a small house with kitchen , bath and toilets and a caravan for the volunteers . This is a place I have been preparing since 15 years ago and there is a lot of small things to do , to make it even better. Good hand helpers are welcomed .
For many years I have been involved in spirituality so with a group of friends we do ceremonies or meditations from time to time.
If someone wants to stay long and there is compatibility of character and ideas, he or she will be more than welcome . Because of animal abuse, I am now a vegetarian.

There is a village at 2,5 km with a bus stop direction Chania(25 km), Rethimnon(33 km) and heraklion(110 km). We are sited at the foothills of the White Mountains so there are a lot of beautiful walks around here.
I also have 2 bicycles for transport. The villages around the area are very traditional Cretan.

I stayed 1 month at Joelle's place in order to do the harvest of olives with 2 other volunteers.

This couple is wonderful, very independent with their van. Maria is an exceptional cook and Daniel is a wonderful woodworker, he replaced some rotten fences for me and I must say I was speechless. I recommend them without restriction and they will always be welcome in my home.

I came to Joelle's house just before the beginning of the second lockdown in Greece.
Like it was planned, I left the house to go to the Airport finding Valentine.
Anytime, every conditions that make a great and memorable Workaway experience was not here.

I stayed 10 days at Joelle´s place and had a fantastic time! An incredible beautiful farm, sourrounded by sweet little villages, no touristy places, but the real crete! Sabine and Richard are a rare couple, we would like to see more often people like them, lovers after so many years together! They are easygoing and their work is just perfect, they installed me a whole system of watering, a professional could not have done better. They are amazing.

Joelle is an inspiration! I don't think there is anything she couldn't do. I loved staying on her farm, the two weeks I was there absolutely flew by. The views and location is fantastic, waking up in the morning and seeing the mountains, you really feel at one with nature.

Joelle's farm is incredibly beautiful! We had such a wonderful stay pruning olive trees in February. We loved learning to saddle the donkey, sitting in the trees, and eating the delicious meals that Joelle made. Thank you so much.
