Description
Hi there and welcome to our WorkAway profile,
We are Anne, Loes and Thomas, a Dutch family living in the countryside near the picturesque L’Ametlla de Mar. Five years ago we bought a finca with 1,5 hectare of land, and ever since we’ve been shaping it into a warm home where we can live, enjoy nature, and welcome family, friends – and Workawayers!
This time, we are looking for two reliable and animal-loving people to stay in our home while we are away from 20 December until 5 January. During this period, we mainly need you to:
Take care of our animals (walk an energetic dog, a small flock of chickens, and two affectionate tomcats).
Keep an eye on the house and watering the garden.
🚗 Important to know: you’ll need your own transport (car or bike) to get around, and we prefer non-smokers.
You will have your own room in the main house, with heating, air conditioning.
From here it’s only a few minutes by car or bike to the nearest supermarket, and a little further to L’Ametlla de Mar , a small but lively seaside town with restaurants, shops and beautiful beaches. The nearby mountains are also perfect for hiking and cycling.
Although we won’t be around during this period, you will have the chance to enjoy the peace and quiet of our finca, surrounded by olive and almond trees. It’s a wonderful place to spend the holidays if you love nature, animals and tranquility.
A little about us so you know whose home you’ll be caring for:
Anne is a building contractor who loves construction projects and diving.
Loes is a goldsmith, who enjoys balancing her work with family life, animals, the garden, and long walks.
Thomas is our lively 6 year old son, always curious and full of energy.
We have had great experiences with people staying here, and we hope to find two trustworthy Workawayers who would like to enjoy our home while helping us out by looking after it.

Anne is an experienced builder who likes sharing his knowledge with people who are eager to learn new things. It is a place where you don't have to be anything, but together we can do and learn anything.

Looking for 2 Workawayers (20 Dec – 5 Jan)
We are a Dutch family living near L’Ametlla de Mar (Catalonia) and looking for two responsible, animal-loving Workawayers to take care of our house, garden and animals (dog, chickens, two cats) while we are away from 20 December to 5 January.
You’ll stay in a private room in our finca.
Own transport required, non-smokers preferred.

In my three weeks there I have helped with various works such as the olive harvest, the construction of a parking lot for campers or renovation work. Even besides the work we had a lot of fun together.
Paul is a quiet guy, incredibly sweet and attend to us and our little son.
Our door is always open for you Paul!

ontzettend bedankt voor jullie inzet en gezelligheid. We kijken terug op een paar hele fijne en leerzame weken samen.
We hebben heel hard gewerkt samen, en er is veel werk verzet. Gelukkig hebben ook, voor zover het weer het toeliet, een paar leuke uitstapjes gemaakt.
