Description
We are an international exchange NGO based near the DMZ in Northern Gyeonggi Province. Our region is surrounded by the Imjin River, beautiful rural landscapes, and the peaceful environment of the DMZ, which makes daily life here calm and meaningful. What I personally love most is the slower rhythm of life and the warm sense of community.
For Workawayers, this is more than just a chance to experience rural life. You can take part in discussions about peace, security, and unification, join volunteer work with local residents, and enjoy cultural exchange and Korean language practice. This place offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful social issues while learning.
Our community is made up of NGO activists, Korean language educators, migrant friends, and local farming leaders. Together, we share meals, conversations, and experiences in a family-like atmosphere, where you’ll feel welcomed and connected.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
As your host, I have taught Korean language and culture at university for more than 10 years, and now I work with foreign residents from many countries here in Korea. We love learning from each other — not only through work, but through everyday life.
Workawayers can:
Share your culture by cooking food from your country 🍲, teaching us about your traditions, daily life, or even just simple greetings in your language.
Connect with our team and local farmers through hands-on experiences in the fields, learning together while working side by side.
Explore with us on unique tours: visiting the DMZ, kayaking on the river, and enjoying the beauty of Yeoncheon — a UNESCO Geopark and Biosphere Reserve. You can even see North Korea from an observatory!
Although only an hour from Seoul, our region is 90% protected green zone — a hidden gem full of nature, history, and culture waiting to be discovered. 🌿✨
Aide
With us, you’ll join both practical work and meaningful exchanges:
Helping to take care of our office and living space in a clean rural area (gardening, weeding, small repairs, cleaning).
Once or twice a week, supporting farm work inside the Civilian Control Zone (DMZ) — a very unique experience.
Assisting with our NGO’s international promotion online (social media, creative ideas).
Sharing your own culture — cooking food from your country or teaching something special to our team and local residents.
It’s not just “work” — it’s about learning from each other, exchanging skills, and creating warm connections with the community. 🌏✨

It would be great if you can communicate in English, so that we can easily share ideas and daily life together. If you are also interested in Korean language, culture, or history, our conversations and exchanges will be even more fun and meaningful! 🌿📚
Hébergement
The village accommodation is a charming two-story country house set quietly at the foot of a mountain, boasting a large garden and breathtaking views. At night, the sky fills with stars, creating a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere. On the first floor, there is one private room along with two other rooms, and guests have full access to the kitchen, bathroom, and a living room that doubles as an office. For those who enjoy camping, pitching a tent outside is allowed, though you’ll need to bring your own tent and bedding. The area is safe, thanks to the village chief and local residents who take good care of the surroundings. The second floor is mainly reserved for group bookings, so Workaway participants typically stay on the first floor.
Meals are thoughtfully arranged. Breakfast offers a simple selection of bread, milk, and eggs with self-service, while dinner usually consists of a light Korean meal. Lunch is served at the village shared space called ‘Narutbae Healing Stay,’ about a 10-minute walk away, where you can enjoy a healthy Korean meal made from locally grown soybeans and fresh vegetables. It’s also suitable for vegetarians. For those wanting a quick bite, bread served with homemade jam made from blueberries and apples harvested right in the village is available.

House Rules
🚭 No smoking indoors or outdoors. Our area is surrounded by forests and fields, and even a small spark could cause a fire. For this reason, we cannot host smokers.
🍷 Alcohol is fine in moderation, but please be considerate of the quiet local community.
🌙 After 8 pm it gets very dark here, so we ask everyone to keep noise low at night and respect the peaceful atmosphere of the village.
This is a quiet rural area, so it’s best for those who enjoy nature, a slower lifestyle, and hidden gems rather than busy city life. 🌳✨
