Description
I am Antonio, 64 and my wife Dila 61, we are the proud owners and host a serene and inviting haven located in the heart of Portugal's countryside. My life revolves around this beautiful rural estate, where I’ve dedicated myself to creating a warm, welcoming environment for all who visit. Living here allows me to share the tranquility and charm of the region with guests seeking a peaceful retreat.
This is not just a place to stay; it’s a living, breathing project that reflects my passion for nature, sustainability, and authentic rural living. I’ve carefully preserved the traditional architecture of the estate while incorporating modern comforts to ensure that guests experience the best of both worlds.
Joining me on this journey is my family, who share in the daily activities of running the estate, as well as a few beloved pets who add to the homely atmosphere. Among them, our loyal dog roams the grounds, welcoming guests with a friendly wag of the tail, while our cats provide a sense of coziness as they laze around in the sun-drenched corners of the property.
The core of our project is to offer an immersive experience where guests can reconnect with nature, indulge in local traditions, and unwind in a peaceful setting. Whether it’s enjoying a walk through our olive groves, savoring a home-cooked meal made with local ingredients, or simply relaxing by the fire with a good book, every moment here is designed to nurture the soul.
Despite being a business as a country house stay-inn, all the task that I need help are not related to the business it self. We do have specific labored workers for that.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

We believe in the importance of nourishing both the body and the soul, so our meals are prepared with care, using ingredients that are either grown on-site or sourced from local producers. You are welcome to join in the cooking process if they wish, learning about traditional Portuguese recipes and the joys of preparing food from scratch
In addition to the daily activities, I also have a deep passion for painting, reading, and gardening. These hobbies are a natural complement to the tranquil and creative environment of the estate.
Painting: The serene landscapes and beautiful surroundings offer endless inspiration for painting. Whether it's capturing the changing light over the olive groves or the vibrant colors of our garden, I find great joy in expressing the beauty of our rural setting through art.
Reading: I cherish quiet moments spent with a good book. The peaceful atmosphere here provides the perfect backdrop for getting lost in a story, whether it’s sitting under a tree on a sunny day or curling up by the fire in the evening.
Gardening: Gardening is both a hobby and a way of life. I take great pleasure in tending to the vegetable gardens and flower beds, nurturing plants from seed to harvest. Gardening allows me to stay connected with the earth and provides a constant source of satisfaction and joy.
These hobbies not only enrich my own life but also contribute to the overall experience here, creating a space where creativity, relaxation, and connection with nature are at the heart of everything we do.Aide
Our farming activities are deeply rooted in traditional and sustainable practices that reflect the rich agricultural heritage of the region. Our daily tasks vary with the seasons but consistently aim to maintain the balance between the land and its produce, ensuring everything we do is in harmony with nature.
What We’d Like to Teach:
Traditional Farming Techniques: How to maintain olive groves, vineyards, and vegetable gardens using methods that have been passed down through generations.
Food Preservation: The art of preserving food through canning, drying, and fermenting, ensuring that nothing goes to waste. (depending on the season)
Rural Living: The simple joys of living in harmony with the land, from tending to animals to enjoying the fruits of your labor at the end of the day.
An Average Day:
A typical day starts early with a hearty breakfast made from fresh, local ingredients. The morning is usually spent outdoors, working in the olive groves, vegetable gardens, or vineyards, depending on the season. Tasks could include pruning, planting, harvesting, or tending to the animals. Midday brings a well-deserved break for lunch, often enjoyed under the shade of an old tree or in the cozy kitchen, followed by a bit of rest.
The afternoon might involve other tasks, such as preparing produce for storage, learning about food preservation techniques, or some DIY and gardening activities. As the day winds down, there’s time to relax, perhaps taking a walk around the property or enjoying the sunset with a glass of wine made from our own grapes.
In the evening, we gather for a communal meal, sharing stories and experiences from the day. The day ends with a sense of accomplishment and a deep connection to the land, ready to start again the next morning.
We take pride in offering comfortable accommodations and nourishing meals to our workawayers, ensuring that their stay is as pleasant and rewarding as possible.
Accommodations:
You will be housed in a cozy, well-appointed bedroom within our main residence. The room is designed to be a comfortable retreat after a day’s work, furnished with everything needed for a restful stay, including a comfortable bed, storage space, and access to shared bathroom facilities. The space is quiet and peaceful, providing a perfect spot to relax and unwind.
Meals:
We provide all meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—each day. Most of the meals are shared in a communal setting, fostering a sense of community and giving everyone the opportunity to share stories and experiences.
Breakfast is typically a hearty spread of fresh bread, local cheeses, homemade jams, eggs from our own chickens, and seasonal fruits from the garden. It’s a great way to start the day with energy.
Lunch is usually the main meal of the day. Depending on the season, this might include salads, soups, stews, or grilled vegetables, often accompanied by bread and olive oil from our own groves.
Dinner is a lighter meal, often served after the day’s work is done. It might include a simple pasta dish, a vegetable quiche, or a hearty soup, along with a glass of wine from our vineyard. This meal is a time to relax and enjoy the evening with good company.Langues parlées
