  Description

  We are a family with two young kids who are five and seven years old. We live on a large building site in a lovely rural area near New Plymouth and Oakura Beach (ten minutes to either). We need help with childcare after school and sometimes on weekends. If you are keen to help with building, we are also building a workshop and house. We live currently in a tiny house, so you would need to bring a campervan with you.
  I am Canadian and my husband is Kiwi. I am a teacher and my husband is an engineer. We are both travellers and enjoy meeting people from around the world. We are looking for extra help during this busy time raising two little boys. For cultural exchange, we are keen to share the occasional meal together and share experiences. We are very busy though building, working and raising kids, so ideally looking for independent travelers who can help us with our workload. We are happy to share ideas of adventures to have around Taranaki and NZ.

  We work part time so we are around sometimes to share some meals together but not always. Volunteers are responsible for their own food. We can negotiate work hours as we know it is not great to not have housing available only campervan parking. We can come up with a plan that will work for you.

  We would need volunteers to do their own shopping please. So for that reason we ask 15 hours of work per volunteer.

  Ten minutes from our house is great surfing, beaches, cafes, pub, pharmacy, supermarket, biking, museums, shopping. 30 minutes away is hiking on Mount Taranaki.
  It is an awesome area for exploring. The town of New Plymouth is 10 minutes away and the beach town of Oakura is also ten minutes away.
