Description
Main help includes cleaning up brush and collecting, splitting and stacking firewood.
I am semi-retired and require some help.
Chores include: washing windows, general clean-up, minor repairs and painting, gathering and chopping firewood. Chopping and cutting firewood requires some endurance and strength. An electric wood splitter is available to ease the work.
The cottage is in Sioux Narrows on Lake of the Woods about 50 kilometres southeast of Kenora, Ontario. The waterfront property is tranquil and a very typical of the Canadian shield (lakes, rocks, pine forests, etc.) and boreal forest.

The sleeping accommodation is an unheated boathouse with bunk beds. There are lots of covers and sleeping bags and the main cottage is of PassiveHause design and it is powered by solar panels. it is very comfortable with running water and full shower. There is also a wood fired sauna. In addition to the modern bathroom there is an outhouse.
Meals would be cooked by myself in the main cottage where I sleep.Autres infos...
There is the possibility to hike and canoe and swim; however the home is rather remote with very few services around - the nearest hamlet is 15 minutes by car The closest large city is Kenora, Ontario which is nearly one hour away.
I could pick up volunteers in Kenora and drive them to the lake!
Kenora is on the TransCanada highway about 2 hours east of Winnipeg and about 5 hours west of Thunder Bay
This opportunity would appeal to a couple or one or two guys looking for peace and quiet in a very typical Canadian setting.Informations complémentaires
