We have maintained many friendships over the years with past volunteers. We are very patient and helpful in teaching English and teaching guests our way of life and customs.
We have many tasks (painting) and chores on our farm and everyday brings something new. Between taking care of our barnyard animals, we tend to have a large garden every year as well. Intermediate to experienced horse back riding skills are required (English or western discipline). We are always updating and upgrading the farm that has been in our family for over 100 years.
The original 100 year old farm house has been totally renovated (including restroom) to give our guests their own private quarters. The house is equipped with satellite t.v. and can access high speed wireless internet.
Towns within 1/2 hour drive time have banking facilities, restaurants, clothing stores and medical attention. There are two cities in the 1 hour drive range and several cities with airport access in the 2 hour drive range. We are close to the Moose Mountain Provicial Park. Airport most convenient is located in Regina, Saskatchewan. Pickup is arranged in advance.
