Our family has a small farm with a huge garden in the countryside near Auckland. It is a peaceful place where beautiful gardens, gentle sheep, and a tranquil stream invite you to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the simple beauty of rural New Zealand.

We have travelled a lot throughout the world and are very welcoming to travellers in NZ and happy to share our experiences.

Aide
Volunteer tasks at our house are mostly focussed on doing work in the garden or on the property, and helping/cleaning around the house. As we live overseas we tend to have ‘projects’ to do when we come home. The work can sometimes be physical (and rewarding) so bring your strength and enthusiasm!!

For our helpers there is a seperate room in the garage which has full sized double bed and sofa so its private.

Nestled in the rolling countryside of Bombay, just a short drive from Auckland, our property offers the perfect balance of rural tranquillity and easy access to the city. It is a place where nature sets the pace, and every day begins with birdsong, fresh country air, and beautiful views across gardens and paddocks.
The property is surrounded by mature trees, colourful gardens, and open green spaces that invite you to slow down and simply enjoy where you are. Whether you're wandering through the gardens with a morning coffee, sitting quietly beneath the trees, or taking in the changing colours of the seasons, it's a place designed to restore and inspire.
On warm summer days, you can follow the path down to the stream for a refreshing swim or simply sit by the water and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The sheep grazing in the paddocks add to the gentle rhythm of country life, and there are plenty of opportunities to take a quiet walk through the property, finding your own space to reflect, read, or simply enjoy the silence.
Although it feels wonderfully secluded, we're only around 40 minutes from central Auckland, making it easy to explore the city while returning each evening to the calm and beauty of the countryside.
We love sharing this special place with people who appreciate nature, enjoy peaceful surroundings, and take pride in helping care for beautiful gardens and a much-loved home.
