We are Pete and Susie, a retired couple living in a tranquil, secluded backwater of rural Lower Normandy, with no close neighbours. Our home is a renovated farmhouse dating back to WW1, about 2km from the nearest village. We have a dog, 4 cats, and an elderly pygmy goat. Pete writes a food and travel blog : chocolatehunters which you can check out for more background information. Please note, we don't accept helpers who smoke.
Sadly, due to the current lockdown restrictions in France, we cannot accept workaway applications at the moment

We are widely travelled and have lived in France for over 17 years. Pete speaks rudimentary French and English with a few choice Geordie words thrown in. Susie speaks French, Italian, German and some Spanish. She worked and lived in India for a time and we both have lots of tales to tell. We can willingly share our life experiences.
Help with gardening, building maintenance, animal care and some renovation work. N.B. during the Winter months, when outside work may not be practical, we'd prefer to host one helper, rather than two. Our current project involves clearing up and making good the garden after tree surgery work. Some of the felled trees need cutting to length, splitting and storing to season

Workawayers have their own private bedroom with a double bed. There is a shared bathroom on the first floor. We have wifi which is quite speedy, UK tv, an extensive DVD and Bluray collection and lots of books. We provide all the meals and are quite happy to take workawayers along with us when we go out to eat.
We in live the vicinity of Mont St Michel and the D Day beaches. There are fascinating Medieval towns close by and lots of rolling, peaceful countryside. There are no clubs, discos or local public transport. We like to treat visitors as part of the family and include them in our everyday life.
