We are a non-profit organization locally involved, since 2013, in agriculture, education, environment, art, livelyhood and health. We are based in the Basouli village in the Kumaon region (Uttarakhand, India). In 2011, we started the creation of a small scale organic farm model, located at the foothill of the Himalaya in the forest next to Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. So far, out of two hectares, one acre is cultivated with different types of crops and fruit trees. Our efforts get rewarded as we observe the mixed forest growing again over the pin's land.
Parallely, we run a digital community center provinding help to the local people as english, computer, photography, filming classes, etc.
We require creative and hardworking people who would like to help us and the community, who like nature and its simple life.

Joining us, you will experience and be part of the rural indian life. You will have a unique chance to explore the beautiful Kumaon region with us, You will eat its simple and delicious Kumouni cuisine. you will learn about organic farming, medicinal plants, local stories, local historical site, Nature, spirituality, etc.
Adopting the proper mind, you will reconnect with Nature and your innerself. You will take part in our mission to save and restore our Himalayan Bio-Cultural Heritage.
We are involved in documenting and shooting films on the bio cultural issues in the Himalaya, help is always welcome.
Voltunteers will be requiered to help according to their preferences in preparing the fields and harvesting the crops, cooking for the family team at the farm, and teaching english etc. at our Education center.
We are currently working on 2 projects. One is the setup of a microscale fruit winery and the others is the shooting of a documentary film on the biocultural issue of the Himalaya. Join us if you have any interests or skills on these
We ask for a minimum stay of one month as we will need to take about a week to introduce the functionment of the farm.
We are a charity organization and is only depending on personal funds so far, we will ask you a small financial support of 200INR per day which includes 3 meals/day 7 days a week in exchange of 3 hours of work 5 days a week.

We provide small 2-beds cottages with attached bathroom (cold shower).
To come to Basouli, you will need first to reach Haldwani by car, bus or train then get into a shared taxi/bus for about 2-3 hours to reach Almora and finally another shared taxi (less than an hour) from Almora to Basouli. The farm is 6 km from Basholi. We will come to pick you up in Basouli.
During your time off, you will be able to go for trekks, rock climbing/slacklining or visit historical sites. We are situated just below a ridge from where you will get one of the best view on the Himalaya's range. We are partner with Climbing & Rocking Society based in Nanital, so you wil have the opportunity to go for outdoor adventures. We are situated at 45 min from Kasar Devi the famous hippy spot where you will meet a lot of travelers.
Mayoli is the perfect place for reading, meditating, painting, etc.
