  Description

  Welcome to a small, friendly bed & breakfast in beautiful Grenada.
  
  Our home sits on a tropical property surrounded by fruit trees, herbs, vegetables and flowers, with beautiful views toward the sea. We are only about five minutes from the beach.
  
  I enjoy gardening, growing food and creating a welcoming place where visitors can experience the real Grenada—not just stay in a hotel.
  
  I have 2 studio apartments and entertain at the most 4 guests usually young single travellers from all over the world. I interact with them as much as they want. This is a good experience for the workawayer as we sit some evenings with them sharing our experiences
  
  I do not employ any full time paid employees. I have workers that come occasionally as needed. For example, to cut the grass, power wash, or any heavy labour that needs to be done.
  
  So far I have been able to manage the bnb on my own.
  
  We are looking for an enthusiastic traveler who would enjoy spending some time helping around our tropical garden and B&B while experiencing Grenadian life and culture.

  My guest reviews often mention that they feel like they are visiting family. They feel right at home.
  I personally will interact with the workawayer by working along side of them in the garden, taking them with me when I run errands and travel around the island.
  
  I will encourage them to attend any of the many workshops I attend. Topics have included soil management, organic pest control and natural fertilizer.
  
  It’s not all about work though, most recently, I attended a workshop of how to make bamboo crafts which was located at the Chinese mission.
  I also write proposals and attend proposal writing workshops for various international and local organizations such as UNDP. This is a skill that would benefit a workawayer.
  
  I am also a member of the first Caribbean Back Yard Garden Network and the workawayer would benefit from attending our social gatherings as well as other social gatherings such as community church were we socialize and enjoy a delicious lunch after the service if they so wish.
  
  The workawayer if interested can learn how to cook various local dishes as well as vegan dishes as I have a big interest in vegan cooking.
  
  The workawayer will also benefit from attending any of the many workshops I attend. have a wealth of information that I can teach the workawayer about bio-diversity, bio-char, natural fertilizing and herbicides. They will also learn about soil health and the challenges of growing food in a tropical environment especially with climate change.
  
  I love to hike and travel around the island with friends and the workawayer would be welcome to join us.
  
  The workawayer may never have experienced harvesting bananas or picked fresh fruit from a tree.
  
  Within walking distance is the jetty where fishermen off load their daily catch of tuna, sword fish etc. Another must experience.
  
  If the workawayer speaks another language and is not fluent in English, we can teach each other. I can help them with their English and they can teach me their spoken language.
  
  The workawayer can learn about rainwater harvesting, solar energy, composting and many other eco friendly tools as I am involved in all of these
  
  We can cook together, eat together and spend time in the evenings sharing.
  
  I have a wealth of knowledge to share about growing food, proposal writing, culturally, bio- diversity which I can share with the workawayer.

  * Pruning and caring for fruit trees
  * Composting and other sustainable gardening projects
  * Helping with our rabbits
  * Light cleaning and preparation of guest areas
  * Simple property and garden maintenance

  Hébergement

  You will have comfortable accommodations, with access to garden, beautiful surroundings and
  an amazing view. A studio apartment with will be provided. The apartment includes a private bath, bed, kitchenette with mini fridge, sink and microwave . There is also a cooking area on the patio that overlooks the garden and sea view
  
  These accommodations are available during the off season, June, July, September and October.
  The property is close to the beach and provides a quiet, relaxing place to unwind after gardening or exploring the island
  
  I follow a vegan, plant-based diet and most of what I eat comes from my garden.
  
  Vegetables, fruits, tofu and beans, rice are the main part of my everyday plant-based diet
  
  I am happy to provide vegan meals and ingredients during your stay. If you have specific dietary needs or foods you enjoy, we can discuss them prior to your stay.
  
  If you require meat, fish dairy or other animal-based foods, you are welcome to prepare them yourself in the guest cooking area. Fresh fish can be purchased in the area/ fish market
  
  You can harvest fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits for meals

  The island has many waterfalls and lots of hiking.You can travel anywhere on the island by bus.
  I prefer a non smoker of either cigarettes or drugs and a non drinker of alcohol or someone who will drink socially when they are out.

  Zarah is a medium size pot hound mix. She loves people and is very friendly. Guests enjoy spending time getting to know her.
  
  I have rabbits that are pets. I use their manure as fertilizer for the garden
