 - Description- We are a sharehouse with a live-in landlady (me), who has a chronic illness and can no longer do strenuous work in the garden, so I need some help! We have a productive orchard, veggie gardens and a giant frog pond (rewilded swimming pool) that brave souls can go for a dip in. There is also a sauna, and possibly the best view of kunanyi/mt Wellington in all of Hobart. We back onto bushland, so you can go exploring right out the back gate. There are 5 people living here, one very friendly cuddly dog who already loves you, a cat who is pretty friendly (for a cat), 3 chickens, and a million frogs. This is my first time being a workaway host, but I have hosted in the past and loved it, and also hosted couch surfers and bike travellers.

 - Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre- Myself and another housemate love to talk about permaculture - including social permaculture and forest bathing. Another housemate is from Nepal and another is from Indonesia, and they may be willing to cook some delicious shared dinners. Another housemate has a lot of local rock climbing knowledge. I used to work for parks and wildlife, have a great collection of maps, and can give you plenty of bushwalking and exploring tips. I've been interested in sustainable living and ecology for a long time, and probably know some things! I am keen to hear from new perspectives and learn new skills, especially as I can't travel myself any more. We have a piano and other musical instruments that you are welcome to play.
 - Aide- My ideal first workaway guests would be a couple who can stay at least a week and help with carrying bricks, building a small retaining wall and wheelbarrowing a lot of dirt and mulch. It seems that 4 hours a day is the expectation for food and board. Smaller jobs will include sanding, painting, pruning and weeding. I will be home most of the day to give guidance, but need to rest a lot, so will leave you alone a lot of the time.
 - Langues parlées- Anglais: Courant
 - Hébergement- I will have a chat with you about your food preferences and make a plan before you arrive. I imagine I will organise shared dinners, but breakfast and lunch can be help yourself. You re welcome to cook some meals. There is a private room downstairs with a double bed, unlimited WiFi, and a shared bathroom and kitchen.
 - Autres infos...- Hoping to host respectful, sensible guests who are considerate of sharing space and resources with others and don't wear any strong perfumes. There are so many beautiful places to explore in Hobart and southern Tasmania in your free time, and I can give some tips. We are in South Hobart, with easy bus access to the CBD, or walking takes about 45 minutes. There is easy parking if you have your own car. There are bush tracks that least the top of kunanyi/mt Wellington right out our back door, local cafes and the brewery down the road, and swimming beaches less than 15 minutes drive.
