    Description

Hola from Costa Rica! We live in a little town called "El Bosque". We are a family of four, two adults and two daughters. Our house is surrounded by nature where we see a lot of birds everyday. We practice sports. We do not have pets.

In the back of our property there’s a creek and a private reserve. Our neighbors say that since we do not have pets, they think that’s the reason why we receive a lot of wildlife “visitors” like: frogs, scarlet and green macaws, agouties, coaties and even monkeys.

In our project, we’re working on trails so that the wildlife can feel “free and safe” wandering around and look for their food in the wild. We also have an organic garden free of pesticides where we grow medicinal plants and some vegetables. The work to do here would be to give maintenance to the trails and the garden.

We are not vegetarians but like to eat healthy food, lots of fruits and vegetables. We have some fruit trees and grow pineapples. We are now making kombucha, kefir and other fermented foods.

We have a guest room with private bathroom. All our members cooperate on the house chores. We classify our waste. We make compost. We like cultural and folkloric activities and travel around our province to visit those events.

We do not drink alcohol or do any drugs. Once a week we have friends come over to have a "table games night". We do a hike in the nearby trails we have around our town.

We like and study languages like French and Italian. We always welcome guests and foreign students. We'd love to share our beautiful country with you.

  • Aide

    Aide

The kind of help we'd like is someone who likes working with plants, trees, soil, rocks and at a vegetables garden.
We would be helping with the person in the trails and garden. The chores would be: clearing trails, outlining trails, removing weeds, planting vegetables.

We provide rubber boots and gloves.

Right now we are covering the grass with cardboard to control its fast growth because we do not use pesticides.
