Description
I live in a 1795 cape, one mile up a dirt road in rural Vermont. As I get older, I am realizing that I need some help maintaining my summer vegetable garden and my raspberry bushes. In addition, there may be wood to stack, bees to tend to, and poetry to be read. I can also teach you a little about woodworking in my attached shop.
My interests are cooking, cycling, playing chess, gardening, woodworking, beekeeping, and poetry. I enjoy sharing my experience and knowledge with the volunteers. As a young man, I travelled in Europe and I realized the value of immersing oneself in a different culture. I hope to provide that experience to others who are interested in learning about rural living in Vermont. I am also interested in learning about your background, your culture, your plans, your life. To be honest, tea and conversation are just as important to me as the outdoor chores that we will be doing. I was a professional chef and baker. If you're interested, we can discuss and learn from each other.
Later in the summer, we will be freezing and canning vegetables. And, we will be making raspberry jam with the berries that you pick.
If you are interested in spending a few hours each day helping in my garden and berry patch, please get in touch! It would be my pleasure to host you.
I try to live a sustainable life on a small rural property in Woodstock, VT. I'm looking for someone to help me to tend and harvest my vegetables and berries, which I then can and freeze for the winter. I also have a keen interest in learning from others who are willing to travel and explore other countries and cultures. That exchange between us is as important to me as any work that we will be doing together.

A traveller would benefit and learn from working with the soil, poetry, art discussions and playing chess.
