  • Description

We are a dynamic and growing coffee plantation in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. Although our primary product is coffee, our goal is to expand employment opportunities for the region by capitalizing on the resources in this 300 acre farm. This includes cattle production, both dairy and beef, green energy production (hydroelectric, biogas, and wind), various fruits and vegetables, tourism, lodging, outdoor recreational activities and more. We desire to help the local area by providing jobs and teaching english to the community. We are also looking for someune who knows about sewing, painting and somebody with art skills to paint a mural, we are in a next project to begin a hostel in Matagalpa, so you can come and help us with that too!!!!

The plantation is located 15km from Matagalpa, a convenient 15 minute drive, accessible by bus. It is in a mountainous area some 1200 meters above sea level.

  • Hébergement

We have 2 Private bedrooms and 1 shared bedroom in our house. As well as 1 private bedroom and a shared bedroom in a cabin right outside our house. Altogether 3 private bedrooms and 2 shared bedrooms. We house anywhere from 1 to 8 volunteers at a time.

In exchange for work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, we offer:

    1. Three good meals a day (and all you can eat bananas haha). If the food is not exactly what you are looking for you are always welcome to buy some of your own food in Matagalpa as we make several trips a week.

    2. A comfortable bed in one of our private or shared rooms.

    3. Its very comfortable here. In the mountains, the weather is fresh. We have a river that runs right by our house that we go to cool off after work sometimes. You can take hikes and explore the area on your free time. The views of Matagalpa and the other mountains of the region are breathtaking. When you are not working, you are welcome to be in the common areas of the house, relax, read, watch tv or use our internet (we have good connection).
