Alex and Shane are the grateful stewards of two beautiful properties on the rural South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada. The property on which we live is a private 30 acre peninsula on the Atlantic Ocean. It is here that the Workawayer would be hosted in a private cabin only feet from the shore. Land clearing and landscaping will be regular chores with tons of fun water activities to be enjoyed. We especially enjoy canoeing and kayaking with the seals that live on the islands in front of our home. Just 40 minutes up the road is our 700 acre wilderness property with nearly 4 miles of riverfront. Join us on camping and clearing adventures which create recreational campsites and walking trails throughout the property. Fluent English and Spanish is spoken in our home. We look forward to adding kindness and fun to your learning experience within the incomparable beauty of rural Nova Scotia.

Your American and Mexican hosts offer diverse cultural perspectives. As well-traveled and educated hosts, it would be a privilege to share the mutual benefits of this cultural exchange opportunity. In addition to language and cultural diversity, one will learn skills of eco-sensitive recreational land development. Nature itself will be a principal teacher in this process. The primary industry in this region is the lobster fishery. There is so much to learn from the woods and waters of this safe and uniquely beautiful part of our world.
Aide
A high degree of skill is not required to have a fun and meaningful learning experience with us. A willingness to get your hands dirty from time to time will be helpful. Landscaping and gardening should be of some interest to you, though experience is certainly not required. Camping and trail cutting through the wilderness will include opportunities for hiking, swimming, canoeing and kayaking. We like to balance meeting our objectives with thoroughly enjoying the beauty and wonder of nature.

Hébergement
You would enjoy a fully contained private cabin on the seashore. It is equipped with a bedroom, living room, full kitchen, and full bathroom. There is also a large covered porch overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Though we would like to share most meals together, we would ensure that independent meals are provided when preferred.

This is a rural area in Nova Scotia. We are here precisely because it is quiet and does not suffer from over population. That being said, there are grocery stores, coffee shops, and the like, just 20 minutes drive in two directions from the property. Though we are not near a large urban center, more than one needs is readily available within a short drive.
