Hi - I'm Suzanne and I live in Nanaimo, British Columbia, on the beautiful Pacific coast of Canada. I am a teacher of French and English. During the winter,I host international students attending Vancouver Island University, which is nearby. I enjoy sharing my languages and west coast culture with visitors. My dog Esther and I love taking visitors walking in the many nature trails around Nanaimo!

You will have your own bedroom You will share the bathroom with one other female, so female guests only please. I will provide you with basic, healthy groceries and you will have access to a full kitchen to prepare your meals and snacks. There are two garden patios to enjoy as well.

Our home is comfortable and friendly, although not fancy. We are tidy and respectful of common areas. We are environmentally friendly. An international student lives here, as there is a small university nearby. A large, very friendly dog named Esther lives here. The city of Nanaimo has a lovely harbour, lakes, rivers, the ocean and mountains - all right here! The harbour is a 15 minute walk from our home. You can walk downtown in 15 minutes as well. There is bus service to world renowned Tofino, as well as to the beautiful cities of Vancouver and Victoria. For health reasons, any guest who stays must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19.

Most of the work we did in my three weeks at her’s was in the garden. We got everything „ready for summer“, which included weeding, planting, watering and mowing. I enjoyed working with her since she created a really comfortable environment. Esther was a contribution to that as well:)
