Description
We are a family of three living in between the ocean and the mountains in SW France. Our home is set in the idyllic Tursan Valley in Les Landes near Eugénie-les-Bains famous for its great spa and restaurants. I work as an artist from home in my loft studio, and my partner works in Pau in the Aeronautics industry. We have a lovely garden and a lovely cat and chocolate labrador

We live in an incredible place for reaching many fun activities skiing, surfing or visiting Bordeaux or the Guggenheim in Bilbao. Our local region is extremely beautiful and surrounding us are incredible walks bike rides and a very friendly local village community. I am a trained visual artist from London with a fantastic studio happy to share knowledge and studio time! You will pick up some French and English as both languages spoken at home!

I felt very welcoming at Rebecca, Vincent and Xaby’s House from the beginning. They have a beautiful place with a huge and nice garden, a lovely cat and by that time one chicken (they wanna have more in future again…).

Rebecca is a great artist and a very warmhearting, open-minded, lovely, positive and funny person. She is most of the time working at home in her cozy studio upstairs and gave all the time the opportunity to get creative too. She taught me once in using different mediums for drawing. That was a great session, thank you a lot! You inspired me to become more creative and encouraged me to start drawing:-)
Rebecca has and had a very interesting life with lots of experiences and she likes to share stories.
I had very nice and sometimes very deep great conversations about life, art, travels, education…)

Vincent is working away and just on the weekends there. He is a very funny and kind person and liked to speak a little german;-)
We always had lovely dinnertimes with lots of laughters.

Xaby, their son, is a very kind and sensitive little boy. He is interested in skateboarding, golf, tennis, music and many more things. He likes to play board- and card games and we enjoyed a couple of times to play for example Wizzard together.

The work I did was mostly helping in the household, I did the cooking, sometimes washing and a bit gardening. I did harvest once the apples at their place and made some nice apple sauce, which doesn’t felt like work;-)
Rebecca is super relaxed about the hours you are working, I never fulfilled the 5 hours per day and she also did not expected that. She is always very appreciative for everything you do and likes to have people in the house.
On the weekends you don’t have to work. You can enjoy your free time or spent time with the whole family.
You will have a very relaxed time there and they will made you feel to be part of the family.

We did some adventures together. We went a couple of times to find a puppy for them, so there will be one more family member in future (Patrick - a chocolatebrown Labrador:-))
Once I went with the other workawayer to Biarritz over night, which is a 1,5 h drive by car. It's nice to have a car, when you are there or you just like to enjoy the nature around their place.

The nature in this area is beautiful and very quiet. I did a lot of walking, running, collecting mushrooms and chestnuts in the forest… You will have plenty of time to reset.

I wanna say thank you so much for the very relaxed and nice stay at your home. It was a pleasure to be with you all.
