***Covid 19 update: I am looking for workawayers who are currently in NZ to join me at my beautiful lodge situated near Collingwood, Golden Bay. The biggest task is care giving and elderly companionship, and workawayers should also enjoy cooking, light housekeeping, and taking my dog Princess for walks! As a result of this virus, I can no longer entertain lodge guests and have no income. Therefore, applicants (couples preferred) will have to share the cost of food and living (to be discussed).*** We are a boutique bed & breakfast lodge established in the Aorere Valley in Golden Bay at the top of the South Island. I host couples with their own car so you are able to enjoy the area's stunning views, great walks and beaches. We do not involve workaways in any activity involving guests or the business. We just enjoy the international exchange and foreign cuisine.

Practice speaking English. Explore the incredible beauty of the Abel Tasman parks and beaches as seen the films The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings. Enjoy the great food of the region, wine and star kissed skies with unpolluted mountain air. Hear some great stories from Reg's 40 years in hospitality, savour home cooked food, and enjoy company from Princess the Labrador.

This guest lodge is set in 25 acres of bush and native forest with beautiful views. I am getting older (almost 80), and am looking for general living companionship. Priority given to couples. Care-giving will involve cooking meals for us to eat together, some house work and chopping firewood. If you love cooking, I have a fully equipped kitchen in which to indulge your cooking talent!

We expect our workaway guests to be couples and have a vehicle to explore the district. Our village of Collingwood is only 13 km away and Takaka is a 30 minute drive from the lodge.

Mussel Inn is a real rustic Kiwi experience with good wholesome food, fine boutique beers produced in their own brewery, excellent live music and friendly atmosphere.

The Heaphy Track in the Kahurangi National Park, is one of New Zealand’s great walking tracks where you can experience some of the best scenery in the country.

Wharariki Beach wild and beautiful – wind and waves have created massive rock and sand dune formations. The caves, islands, and arches, where seals breed, are among the most dramatic in the country.

Abel Tasman National Park famous for its golden beaches, granite cliffs, and coastal track, it is a wonderful place to visit, explore, kayak and sail any time of the year.

Farewell Spit is a nature reserve on a sand spit jutting into the Tasman Sea. You can walk on the base of the spit, and there are excellent 4WD (four-wheel drive) safaris (based in Collingwood) along to the lighthouse and bird habitats.

Te Waikoropupu (Pupu) Springs near Takaka are known for the clarity of the water and are New Zealand’s largest freshwater springs and a ‘wahi tapu’ (scared place) to the local Maori.
