  Description

  Hello! We are Valentina and Marco, and we live in Soverato (Calabria) with our three-year-old son, Nino.
  
  After living in several different cities, we decided to move back to the South of Italy because we missed the incredible quality of life here. Soverato is a gem nestled between the mountains and the sea, offering an authentic and "uncontaminated" lifestyle. It’s the perfect place to rediscover your own rhythm and enjoy the genuine warmth of the local people.
  
  One of our main goals is to raise Nino in a multicultural and multilingual environment. I already speak to him in English, and we would love to welcome volunteers who can bring new languages and cultures into our home. For us, Workaway is all about cultural exchange: we aren't just looking for help, but for someone to share stories, meals, and experiences with.
  
  If you love the sea, the mountains, and want to experience the "slow life" of Southern Italy while helping our son grow up with a global mindset, we would be more than happy to host you!

  You won’t just be staying at our house; you will be part of our daily life! We are currently in a very active phase, exploring the surroundings to deepen our knowledge of this beautiful territory. You are more than welcome to join us on our weekend trips, excursions in nature, and visits to local spots.
  
  You will also have the chance to meet our friends and family, experiencing the authentic social life of a Southern Italian community. Whether it's a dinner at home or an outdoor adventure, we love sharing our world with our guests.
  
  We have a diverse range of skills we’d love to share:
  
  Sailing: Marco is a professional sailing instructor and can share his passion and knowledge of the sea with you.
  
  Wellness & Health: Valentina is a Mind-Body Coach specialized in pelvic floor health; she can offer insights into body awareness and holistic well-being.
  
  Cooking: We both love cooking! If you want to learn how to prepare some authentic Italian dishes or discover local Calabrian flavors, our kitchen is always open.
  
  Local Culture: We can show you the "hidden" Calabria, far from the usual tourist paths.

  Aide

  We are looking for one or two volunteers (couples or friends are welcome!) to help us for approximately 4 to 5 hours a day, 5 days a week.
  
  We believe in a fair part-time arrangement that allows you plenty of free time to explore Soverato, enjoy our beautiful beaches, and relax. We are flexible with the schedule and happy to organize the hours together so you can make the most of your stay in Calabria.
  
  Specific tasks include:
  
  Playing with Nino: He is a very lively 3-year-old! He needs someone energetic to play with, but also someone patient to sit down and do puzzles or read stories together.
  
  Moving House Logistics: We are currently preparing for a move. We don’t need you to lift heavy furniture (we have professionals for that), but we need help organizing and packing the many small items and books we own.
  
  Cultural & Language Exchange: Just being part of our daily life, sharing your language and culture with us and our son.

  Hébergement

  We are happy to offer our volunteers a very comfortable and private setup. You will have:
  
  A spacious double bedroom with a large, comfortable bed - desk and closet
  
  Your own private floor: The room is located on a dedicated floor of the house, ensuring maximum privacy for both you and our family. Private entry.
  
  Private Bathroom: You won't have to share your bathroom with anyone else.
  
  Private Kitchen & Laundry: You will have your own kitchen to prepare meals if you wish, and a washing machine for your laundry.
  
  We believe that having your own independent space makes the experience much more relaxing, allowing you to recharge after a day of playing with Nino or helping with the moving preparations.
  
  Absolutely, we will be offering 3 meals per day. For us it is very important the cultural exchange and we are looking forward to that part of the experience. Nevertheless, the guest will also have on their floor a full comfort kitchen to prepare their own meals in case they need to sometimes.

  We live in a beautiful spot on the hill, just about a 10-minute walk from the town center of Soverato. You can easily enjoy the local life and reach the seaside, but then come back to the peace of our neighborhood.
  
  Getting around: There is a public bus available, and we are also happy to offer you car rides when we go down to town or go on excursions.
  
  Exploring further: Soverato has a train station, which is very convenient if you want to explore other parts of Calabria or Italy during your time off.
  
  Discovering together: While you are free to explore on your own, we are currently traveling a lot to discover our territory, and we would be delighted to have you join us on our trips!

  We understand that many travelers today have their own projects, remote jobs, or study commitments. We are very flexible with your help schedule and can easily arrange your Workaway hours around your own work or personal time. Our goal is to create a stress-free environment where everyone can manage their tasks comfortably. As long as we communicate and plan ahead, we can find the perfect balance that works for all of us!
