Description
We are looking for an individual volunteer or couple to live and work with us on our eco hostel. I am English and my wife is Colombian and we have two kids 13 and 15 years old, two cats, two dogs and a few chickens. As a family and a business we are a very relaxed and friendly but also industrious and hard-working. The hostel is located between San Gil and Barichara and has spectacular views, a natural swimming pool, affordable glamping, a citrus orchard, dry toilets and solar showers.
In exchange for 4 hours work, we offer breakfast plus accommodation in a geodesic dome. We don't have a shared kitchen, but we have a campfire kitchen with wood fired stove and oven. We have an excellent vegetarian restaurant and volunteers can buy the set lunch with a discount.
The work is mostly garden work, construction, maintenance, publicity or artistic stuff.
We are also looking for a long term (1+ months) volunteer to help with publicity and marketing.
Volunteers must have a high level of either English or Spanish.
We expect all our volunteers to have a proper working attitude as you would in any other job. We welcome all volunteers into our family and we treat them very fairly and respectfully, and in exchange we expect them to do what we ask of them in the best way they can.

There is loads to do in the area: hiking, rivers, waterfalls, colonial villages and extreme sports and you will plenty of time to do them during the day.
The hostel is remote but accessible, 15mins walk from the bus route. Buses pass every 15 mins to San Gil (15 mins away) , Barichara (20mins away) and Villanueva (20 mins away) .

We have a WiFi zone, which is an open space with a roof, tables and electrical points. It has a spectacular mountain view and is close to the toilet, restaurant and natural swimming pool.

Staying here was the highlight of me and Jennie's trip to Columbia. Andrea was such a wonderful host, and made me and Jennie really feel at home and welcomed. The breakfast was delicious, and the banana chocolate cake was to die for ! Thank you so much, we will miss this place lots ❤️

We had a great time and could work on a variety of different projects/ tasks in a short amount of time. Justin and Andrea are very nice and they prepare the best Curry dishes you can imagine (seriously, make sure to try the food).

Our stay was amazing ! The place is wonderful with very good and beautiful comodities. Justin and Andrea were super welcoming and clear with the tasks we had to do. The food is increible and very tasty ! As volunteer we slept under a dome that was very comfortable, everything is done to make you feel like home. Thank you very much to both of you !

I really enjoyed my time here and out of 7 volunteer jobs so far this was one of my favourites! The work was varied and interesting and there is so much to do in San Gil or you can just relax in and around the beautiful hostel grounds.

Tim was one of the best volunteers we've had. We didn't want him and his friend Ollie to leave! Excellent attitude, hard worker , good cook and inventive problem solver. I had a really nice week volunteering here. Justin, Andrea and their 2 kids are lovely people! The setting is peaceful and gorgeous, perfect for relaxing after 4 hours of work. The breakfast provided every morning is tasty and filling. Come here if you want to slow down, get your hands dirty and enjoy nature :)

Dorian really helped us out by looking after our farm and hostel on his own while we went on a short holiday. Benjamin was a great volunteer who did everything that was asked of him perfectly. He was in charge of looking after the goats, which was a greeat help. He also worked in the garden and doing construction and recycling. Highly recommended!

Momo was a wonderful presence on our eco-hostel. She's a super lovely person who works hard and does everything that is required of her and more! Justin and Andrea were lovely and very hospitable. They have an amazing place a little out of the town but cheap, quick and easy by bus and you're surrounded by nature, waterfalls, forest and animals. The other volunteers were so nice as well as the guests. Definitely stay here even if you don't get a chance to volunteer!

Of the three workaways I've completed, this one is head and shoulders the best. Andrea and Justin are super friendly and welcoming and have adorably nice kids to boot. The hostel itself is a gorgeous property and there is literally too much stuff to do in the surrounding areas. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Justin, Andrea and the two terrors (not really, the kids are total sweethearts) were great hosts. They fed us very well with delicious food, put us up in their yurt and then dorm room which were both very very comfy, introduced us to their amazing friends and took us on hiking adventures.

Cancelled on me with a weeks worth of notice after many back and forths and a definitive date being set weeks prior. Not his fault i presume as he said his brother is coming for a number of months. Just a bit frustrating having had passed up other opportunities in leu of expecting work here.
