I was lucky enough to meet these two three years ago and I'm always happy when they show up again each year since. I was only able to help out for a bit, but Ben's farm has plenty of fun projects to do. It would be neat to be there during the spring time to see the vegetable garden ramping up for the season. I'm grateful knowing there are folks like Ben growing and providing good food for everyone in the community.

All around good dude, helped out with all sorts of stuff we threw his way. Made fast friends with almost everybody around and required less than I think most humans could.
Probably most impressive aspect was that he showed up with some farm experience and all sorts of interest in what we had going on, but immediately jumped head first into

We're still carrying them on, pretty much exclusively going from what he taught us. Fairly unique to host a travelling type with that combination of open-mindedness mixed with follow-through. Much appreciated Spencer

Ben is one of the most hard-working individuals I have ever met. Truly dedicated to helping out his community and supporting anyone that is interested in small-scale farming. I had a great time helping out on the veggie farm! Ben was a super host; letting me decide when and what to do, but always giving direction or advice on what and how when asked. He also constantly offers recreational advice on where to go swimming, hiking, to the ocean, and even the quaint little town of Willits. While I was there, I was able to

Jeff's a damn good worker and a pleasure to have around. He got along quickly with everybody that came by or was working at the farm during his stay. Thanks again for all the help Jeff, hope you and your friend end up coming back this way sometime soon.

I had lovely experiences on Ben's farm. He and his manager were super friendly and welcoming. Ben obviously had a lot going on, yet he took many occasions to chat, crack some jokes and give us a "tour" of the pigpen. I would definitely go back to spend some time on the farm and be a part of all the growth that's happening. Good vibes!

Alexx was wonderful with my only complaint being that she was passing through and didn't have more time to spend with us. Audrey and Frank probably don't need this since they just settled down nearby hopefully for the long run, but these two kept with workaways tradition of improving my sense of humanity. It takes a special place to make me stop and question why I would want anything else besides what’s right in front of me. We originally planned on staying one week at Ben's farm, and ended up staying three! The farm is in a beautiful spot in Potter Valley and Ben is a great, laidback host with the admirable goal of producing affordable food for the local community. And his dog Otis is the best!
We helped out with weeding, transplanting, and harvesting for the local

We also kept the farm stand stocked with pumpkins, and gave the piggies the odd scratch on the nose :) It's rewarding work, and you can learn loads from Ben who really knows his stuff. We usually worked around 4 to 5 hours per day, and after we got to hang out on the farm, chill out at a nearby swimming hole, or have a few drinks in the local bar. Everyone we met on the farm and all the locals were the loveliest people. Accommodation is the coolest old Greyhound bus, and for food you get your pick of the veggies on the farm, pork, fresh eggs, and any fish/cheese/meat that Ben trades with other producers at the market.
The farm, the surrounding area and the people are really special, and it was sad to leave! If we're ever in the area again, we would love to go back!
Thank you Ben for having us!!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

These guys were super duper clutch as the first non-friend-of-a-friend workawayers to come through the farm.

After these two have come through, Ive got more confidence than ever in the generosity of friendly strangers. I owe them all sorts of peace of mind for helping out so much right during peak season.
Thankya much Charly and Ceri, hope you guys get in contact again next time you're burnt out on Paris. You know Dan will be waiting to greet ya with a smile.

Alta's amazing! She contacted us through workaway about coming by to help cause she was staying right down the road at another nearby workaway site.
