Description
We are British, married and been living here in Portugal for seven years. We have built from scratch a bird sanctuary - with my husband having had years of experience in the UK dealing with penguins along with many visits collecting eggs for conservation from the Faulkland Islands - so lots of interesting stories to tell!! We live in the forests set up in the hills with amazing views looking over villages in the distance... The Estrela mountains are moments away - along with amazing walks, rivers and little beaches along the river banks... a dream place to live

You will experience a wide knowledge of bird life - from the eggs to the babies and sometimes hand rearing of very special birds, all set amongst lakes waterfalls and beautiful scenery.

Aide
We have a large collection of birds for conservation - set outside in large aviaries, also swans and flamingoes, and cranes to name but a few. The experience is amazing, set in the hills but just a short distance to a local village with all amenities.. 40 minutes from Coimbra. We would like help feeding the birds and general maintenance. Some birds are very friendly and love to talk - we have a Large collection Macaws too
