• 

  Description

  I live in Vila Nova de Gaia, in a small urban oasis — a peaceful green space right in the city centre.
  
  The property has around 3000m², with an old house, a beautiful garden, a small vegetable patch, and some annexes with garages.
  I share the Quinta with two lovely dogs — one older and very calm, and a German Shepherd who is shy and tends to bark at people she doesn’t know at first, but she’s gentle once she gets used to you.
  They are part of the family and usually stay around the garden, so helpers should feel comfortable being around dogs.
  
  My children are now grown up — three are mostly away, and only my 13-year-old daughter lives at home. I work long hours (mostly from home) and would really appreciate help restoring the garden and vegetable area, and with small maintenance tasks.
  
  I may not always be available to supervise every task closely, so I truly value creativity, independence, and initiative.
  You’ll have freedom to organise your work and suggest improvements, always with my validation and guidance when needed.
  I appreciate people who enjoy taking ownership of small projects and making things better with care and good ideas.

  You’ll stay in the annex, a private and comfortable space with its own bathroom and small kitchen area.
  Wi-Fi and all basic amenities are included.

  Ideal for two friends or a couple who enjoy being outdoors and working with their hands.
  Minimum stay: 2–4 weeks (maximum around 2 months). It’s important that you’re comfortable working independently — I’ll always be available for questions and direction, but I appreciate helpers who can plan, decide and act responsibly on their own when needed.
  You’ll have plenty of free time to explore Porto, the beaches of Gaia, and local nature trails.
  
  The Quinta is a peaceful, green retreat in the middle of the city — perfect for people who appreciate simplicity, nature, and meaningful work.
  There are also two dogs living here — a sweet older lady and a shy German Shepherd who may bark at first but quickly relaxes once she recognises someone.
  They’re friendly and used to people, but it’s important that Workawayers like animals and are patient during the first introductions.
