It was a great pleasure that Madison came to stay with us!
She is very pleasant to live with, tidy, calm, careful and very friendly.
Madison also got on very quickly and lovingly with the two house goats.
Working together with her has been great and fun: she is helpful and fully committed, has understood and learnt new things very quickly.

… read more also worked extremely well, conscientiously and reliably on her own, she quickly and easily installed daily routines.
Her dealings with Lilli and Nathan (goats) were very careful and extremely loving, and she was very considerate of old Nathan's special needs.
Madison has a wonderful relationship with animals and nature!
We are very much looking forward to Madison coming back : ).

Wow my three weeks with Vera went too quickly!!! She is such a special person and I had the best experience during my workaway stay.
The room I stayed in was lovely, beautiful morning sunshine and a view of the mountains, recently renovated too.
The work was a lot of fun and ranged in jobs from moving hay, cleaning, gardening, caring for the
… read more BEST goats ever!! I also got to learn new skills too by building the goats a ramp and using power tools.
Vera was very kind to me, she showed me so many stunning scenic spots around Interlaken. She was generous with her time, she bought me dinner out multiple times and lent me her bike to go sightseeing. I felt welcome and accepted, it was easy to fit in to her (and the goats!) schedule. I feel very grateful for the many special moments we all shared.
I came away from this experience with peace in my heart and I am already looking forward to returning.

I am very grateful that I could volunteer in Vera’s farmhouse, for the first time in September 2021 and second time in August 2022. First of all Vera is a special person; friendly, open minded, wise, conscious and has a big heart. Once you are there you will learn many things from her about many topics. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to learn and spontaneously practise many topics including sustainable and ecological life-style, permaculture, biodiversity, animal care and animal psychology, which I enjoyed a lot. I also had the opportunity to learn the culture and a bit of Swiss German. Once I became familiar with the goats I could bond with them and we had a fun time together. It is such a pleasure to spend time with and look after them.
The farmhaus is a typical Swiss village house, everything from wood, has a special calm, cosy and natural feeling. The room for the volunteer is big and very comfortable, and has a view of Jungfrau summit. Next to the house there is the stable for the goats and storage for the hay. There is a huge front garden and back garden, full of herbs, vegetable plants and fruit trees, a unique chance to have your own organic food directly from the garden. It is very comfortable and fun to sit and spend time in the garden. I also really enjoyed working in the garden. There is even a wooden little yoga hut in the garden which gets direct sun during sunset and makes it a special place to enjoy the sunset with the goats. Many different kinds of birds are visiting the garden, it is also a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with these birds.
The location is one of Switzerland’s most beautiful places, Interlaken. There is easy access to many wonders of nature such as Lauterbrunnen, Jungfrau, Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, Aare river etc. It is surrounded by lakes, mountains, waterfalls and many hiking trails. I went on hikings, did cycling tours and swam in the lakes and rivers during my time there.
Overall, I highly recommend this Workaway opportunity!! I had the chance to learn many things about ecology, animal care, gardening and I grew personally. This experience added many things to my view and helped to broaden my horizon. Additionally, I had time to relax, enjoy nature, visit places, do hiking/cycling and read books/paint .
Since we became friends with Vera we are still exchanging many things and I am visiting her from time to time. I appreciate my connection with her. Thank you Vera for everything!!

I stayed at Vera's place for two weeks in May 2018 and it was my very first workaway experience. The house she lives in is a unique spot in Interlaken, an old house amongst the touristy busy streets with all its new built chic hotels and shops, holding up against all the consumerism taking place. Her two dwarf-goats welcomed me right at the door
… read more and I got a nice cosy room for my own which I really enjoyed. My work was taking care of the goats while Vera was out. It was not so easy for me to get along with these two troublemakers! :D so I don't know how much of a help i was in the end. But I really enjoyed the quiet moments we had sitting all in the kitchen, the two boys resting on the ground sleeping on their pillows :D! I admire Vera for her toughness and wisdom, her experiences she made in life and although we are very different in character, had long interesting talks about a lot of topics we share. Thank you for everything Vera, you live in a little paradise, and hold your feminist flag up against the stubborn old white men in your neighbourhood!!Feedback

There are not enough good things to stay about Vera, Nathan and Florian. I had such an incredible experience during my short, but impactful time with them. You will live in a huge, cozy, rustic farmhouse with lots of character. Vera is very specific with her wishes and the tasks are incredibly simple and enjoyable.

… read more bonding with the boys (the goats), they have SO much personality and are such a pleasure to spend time with and look after. Vera is such an intellectual, open-minded and energetic person. I think it is safe to say I have made friends for life from this work-away and will absolutely be visiting again.
I HIGHLY recommend this workaway opportunity to anybody with an open-mind, positive energy, eagerness to learn and a genuine connection with animals.
