This was our first workaway experience and it couldn't have been better! We stayed at Darren's place in Montauk for 3 weeks and he made us feel definitely at home!
He is very generous and always provided us with everything we needed.
Our room was clean and spacious with private bathroom, but actually the whole amazing house was open for us

We mainly took care of the garden and the lovely "puppy" Labrador (Ludo) and the amount of work was proportioned to what we were given.
Downtown Montauk is 15/20 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by bike - which Darren also provides.The town is nice and a lot of trails can be found nearby.

We stayed at Darren’s place for just over a month and absolutely loved it. The house is beautiful and very comfortable, Nino the old labrador kept us company and we had free use of the bikes to get around town and go visit the lighthouse and beach etc. We cooked for ourselves during the week with the very generous amount of food supplied by Darren

I stayed three AMAZING weeks at Darrens House in Montauk. The house is placed at a peaceful and quiet area, right next to a golf course. There are beautiful beaches closed to his house to see a stunning sunset or to have a great surf with Darren. … read more cosy bar you go to the city centre which is 5 minutes away. Puplic transportes to NYC are easy to get and for reasonable prices.
The house is in a flawless condition. For me as a traveler it was a pleasure to stay in a such a big and nice house. After traveling a long time it was a perfect stay to calm down and relax. Wifi works excellent and there are two brand new washing machine and dryer for doing laundry. My room was spacy and comfortable.
I worked most of the time in the garden. It is reasonable work and I really liked it. I cutted the hedges and did a new stepp ect.. While I was working, there were a lot of deers eating an relaxing just 2 or 3 meter closed to me. Rabbits also bouncing around the garden and all good things come in threes.... a lot of cute squirrel live in Darrens garden as well.
Sometimes there is few work in the house. It always depend but he always explaint his work detailed to me.
Darrens generosity has impressed me really. For me personally the food supply was more than enough. He provides 3 meals a day what I really enjoyed. Also there is a bicycle to get around faster and surfboards to use. I appreciated his generosity really.
Darren is always funny and happy. He knows a lot about many things. He is an easy-going and very respectful person. He makes the workaway really comfortable and enjoyable. I can totally recommend Darrens Workaway to anyone.
I couldn't have a better stay in great New York.

Severin was a pleasure to have as a guest from the moment he arrived until the moment he left. Super hard working, easy to get along with, sociable with everybody and extremely respectful of everything and everybody in my home.
