Description
I am looking for someone/ a couple/ a family who would like to come and keep my boys, Molo & Jac company while we are away 11th September - 18th September.
The house is a cosy cottage in Merthyr Tydfil with a lovely garden. It is very well located for those wanting to visit the Bannau Brycheiniog, Bike Park Wales, Waterfall Country of Neath, or Merthyr Tydfil itself which has a rich heritage history. I have previously put together a document for sitters with links & pins to nearby walks, good local food, and places to explore, I would be happy to share this with you!. I would recommend this as a sit for someone who drives.
Our pets:
Molo is a 11 year old mixed-breed, medium sized dog. He would enjoy a walk each day, but once a week he has a dog walker who takes him. Outside of this walk, he is an incredibly lazy potato and will sleep the majority of the remainder of the day - besides waking up for his dinner. In good weather (and quite often even in bad weather!) he generally lies outside from the moment you wake up until you call him in when it’s time to go to bed. He is very easy to have around at home. Equally, if you are a keen walker he would be thrilled to join you on any adventures.
Jac is a young jackdaw that we have found ourselves adopted by. He is primarily wild, in that he flies freely, sleeps elsewhere & does what he likes. That said, what he likes is to spend most of the day with us! - either generally being a playful nuisance or napping on our shoulders. In this way, we have become responsible for him in the same way we are with Molo (Molo is probably a bit more independent if anything). Jac would like someone who enjoys spending some time each day in the garden with him (& is ok with birds landing on your head!).
any questions feel free to ask! :) -

The area:
The house is extremely well located. It's well connected yet feels rural and villagy, and sits in a friendly, quiet, safe, small street. Merthyr itself is at the heart of the South Wales Valleys and has a rich ex-industrial heritage. We are on the outskirts of the National Park.
Nearby: Immediately from the house there is wonderful forestry for walking.
Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog) is just a 7 minute drive away. Within 10-15 minutes there are a number of stunning lakes and mountain walks (the Hilltop picture and lake pictures uploaded are from walks a 10 minutes drive away)
Bike Park Wales: is two miles away for those who enjoy biking. Waterfall Country is a 25 minute drive away, where you can visit many beautiful waterfalls. There are also a good number of more local, off the beaten path waterfalls. Merthyr Tydfil itself is a few minutes away. In the town centre you can visit Cyfartha castle with its gallery, art hub, museum and gardens. Around the town are many trails and sites to visit relating to Merthyr’s industrial past. The Taff cycle/walking Trail which runs from Cardiff to the Brecon Beacons along the river Taff can also be reached within a 10 minutes walk or short cycle. Nearby towns of Abergavenny, Cardiff, Brecon Town and the Big Pit Museum in Blaenavon are 30-40 minutes away.
Amenities: There is a retail park with many shops and gym a 5 minute walk away. There a number of larger supermarkets within the town centre. In town you can find a number of restaurants and shops and a train station. From the retail park you can take a bus into the Brecon Beacons for exploring. -

Espace pour garer des vans
There is off-road parking in the garden. I also have a van (Transit) which fits well enough, but a motorhome would be too wide to fit through the gates. Can fit up to a LWB.
