Description
I am recently retired with a large house and garden in a beautiful location that I would like to share. I would greatly benefit from help with maintenance and improvement. The peacefulness and views over Lyttleton harbor and Port Hills make it a great place to work and relax. A 5-minute walk takes you to swimmable Corsair Bay and walking tracks. It is a 20 minutes' walk to Lyttelton township with great cafes, Visitors' Centre etc., and another 20mins by bus to Christchurch. Minimum of 3 nights.

I have travelled widely and related to many cultures and languages and will enjoy getting to know you over your stay. I'm happy to share knowledge of this country if you would like this. I have plenty of experience of NZ outdoors - hiking, climbing, ski touring, cycling, sea kayaking. I am involved with music (play clarinet in amateur orchestra) and dabble in making pottery.I'm also interested in the arts, good cafe's etc.I love our Lyttelton community and have lived here over 30 years now.
Aide
* Gardening in my mini orchard and vegetable garden. As it is a steep section this can involve carrying mulch and other things up from street level, shifting firewood, weeding, strimming, lawn mowing etc.
* Housework and maintenance. Cleaning, painting and minor repairs
* Small DIY jobs. I need some cupboards lined, handrails installed and other small jobs
* Cooking and preserving at times
I'll work with you at times, or let you know what to do and leave you to it - whatever works best for you and me at the time,.Langues

I love language and am always interested in learning what I can when I travel but a busy career, until recently, has meant I have never become fluent in any. I'd love to extend my limited French, Spanish and Japanese and am happy to help you with English as required.Hébergement
Sharing my house with me. 2 good sized double bedrooms are available and 2 shared bathrooms. Andrew, a tenant lives in a studio apartment onsite. I eat a mainly plant-based, diet - often organic. I eat free range meat on occasion. I am gluten-free and happy to cater for special diets by arrangement. No smoking on the property

TRANSPORT: If you have a vehicle parking is on the quiet no exit street. Walk 20 minutes to Lyttelton and the bus stop enjoying lovely views. I can pick up from Lyttelton at times - it takes 5 mins return in a car. Cycling is great from here. Our city busses have cycle racks on the front.
WALKING & CAFES: There are lovely walking tracks around the bay from stepping out my front door. The harbour ferry from Lyttelton takes you to Diamond Harbour, more good walking and cafes.
LOCAL SIGHTS: Plenty to do with all that Lyttelton, Christchurch and the Port Hills have to offer.
DAT TRIPS can be made to Akaroa, Kaikoura and Arthurs Pass amongst other places.
INFORMATION CENTRE in Lyttelton is very handy with maps, tours and information on the regionInformations complémentaires
