… read more on his airplane, since he is a pilot, and also around the area of Büsum and Hamburg. On my own I was able to visit many cities of Schleswig- Holstein, such as Husum, Lübeck, Hamburg and Fleansburg, and also Copenaghen, since their daughter kindly offered me a ride near there. I am very grateful for this experience and I had a really good time with them. … read more my visit was learning how to cook Chinese dishes in Germany. It was not only enjoyable but also a fantastic bonding experience. Also spending time with Luna, watching movies, and even catching shooting stars together was a blast. Our shared moments were filled with laughter and joy. I had an amazing time with this family and I was able to improve my German. They are very kind, friendly and great cooks. The work was good. I also got to explore Hamburg , Büsum and go to the beautiful beach. We watched an amazing show in Hamburg. I also enjoyed spending time with the daughter, Luna and meeting her friends. I highly recommend

We are so grateful that Alice came to visit and support us.
She stayed with us from 12.9 til 24.10.2020. Her workinking spirit was extraordernary good!! She helps us a lot at the renovations. Beside the work she cooked very well and did a lot of sports:-)

The food is amazing, Ralf and Yanchen are lovely and I also enjoyed the company of their children, Luna and Colin. They were always so friendly, hospitable, and welcoming. I felt part of their family instantly.

I stayed with the family for 3 weeks and had an amazing time. Unfortunately during my time there, Germany was in the midst of a lockdown so work wasn't as frequent as expected - however this gave me more time to explore the beautiful area of Busum!

… read more spontaneously to move projects within one week because the previous hosts could`t host me anymore. Originally I came here out of my interest for Thai massage because Yanchen owns a Thai massage shop in Büsum. I did learn quite a bit about the work in a Thaimassage shop and had in my first weeks a kind of internship in the shop. Then I decided to save some money to go to Thailand to take Thai massage courses and this family was more than supportive towards my idea, for which I am very very grateful.
I could combine easily my work for the hosts (mainly cleaning the holiday house and household tasks) with working part-time in a cafe in Büsum and additionally Ralf helped me out with another job at his project Sturmeck (mother-child-facility) so I could even save more than I expected))
The food was very yummy, it is often Chinese food so I could improve in eating with chopsticks) Also I could borrow Yanchens bike anytime I needed it which was super kind. The two teenage children are also super kind and I was very happy to taste Lunas delicious cakes and was very thankful for Collin helping me to build up the big yellow tent in their backyard, since a second workawayer was coming and I moved from living in a cosy yellow room with fairy lights to live in a big yellow tent which I really enjoyed living in and which was very cosy as well.

Ralf and Yanchen are very busy as both of them are entrepreneurs, you can see how's the entrepreneurial life is going. But "work hard, play hard", they will go somewhere every weekend, like Heide, Hamburg and Denmark! Yes, they even took me to camping in Denmark! This is the first time I go to Denmark and go camping with a caravan, it's awesome!!
… read more Ralf is a pilot before, they took me to visit the light aircraft club nearby. It was so excited that I can touch and see the light aircraft!
Ralf and Yanchen and their kids are all super friendly, they show great hospitality. They are also very good at cooking, especially the Thai and Chinese cuisine. It is so amazing that I can eat hot pot here!! And I have learned to cook some German dishes too.
Therefore, I must say the experience here is excellent!! Lovely people, good food, beautiful environment, and relaxing atmosphere, I love here so much and I extended my stay from 4 weeks to 10 weeks! Big, big thanks to Ralf and Yanchen and all the lovely people I met during my stay! I will revisit them in the future for sure! I lived at this project for a couple of months this summer and it was a great experience! They were very nice and they help me a lot with German language. I don't know where to start; I had the best experience since I came to Germany. I learned a lot of things from every member of the family; I tried to work in many different things as well. I worked on a farm, and that was one of my dreams, and I did it. I also worked with the mother in her business, and I saw how's the entrepreneur life is going
… read more as both of them are entrepreneurs. The kids are super friendly, and my German improved because of them. We cooked many different dishes and we every weekend we go somewhere, we been to Denmark and we stayed in a camp with CARAVAN! That was awesome! They also live close by to Hamburg, and they showed me around. One of the amazing thing I learned is how to cook Chinese food, and I ate the best Chinese food from the mother. The father is a piolet, so we tried to fly in his plane. I will come to revisit them in Summer for sure.
